How the heck do I even get to my gallery? If I go by my profile->gallery I just get the art gallery, my old bookmark is depricated with the change over. I don't see any links. Under member options there isn't something like 'my gallery'.

Where is my gallery!

If you go into photo gallery link top of forum, there is a link top of galley page "my gallery" which will take to your gallery (at least it dose for me)

Good luck

Yup...i noticed that myself....had written a looong ramble....as usual. But this one was exceptional. Over 3000 characters long...and when i hit upload....i got that message myself. And there was no way of back-stepping either. I just ended up on the same page. So that was 3000 characters i was robbed of....and about the 30 minutes it took writing them. :crying:

No way to back-step? That is strange I feel sorry for ya buddy...I always write my comments in an email just in case something like that happens, and copy and paste it into the comments field at the end. Galleries are back up. ____________ " A man who uses a great many words to express his meaning is like a bad marksman who, instead of aiming a single stone at an object, takes up a handful and throws at it in hopes he may hit." -Samuel Johnson, lexicographer (1709-1784) ((hehehe  ))

Glad you mentioned that you've uploaded Andreas, because I see I just got an ebot for Kort but none for you,sad to say...

I have no idea what's up with that, but it's so frustrating, especially when you're like me and follow ebots a lot.In fact, that's how most people know that I've posted, and when you post as infrequently as I do....

Hmmm... I'm 100% certain it is a good idea for a site like this one to have upgraded to PHP code, but.... I'm not quite sure it was implemented in an efficient fashion? RR was never the easiest site to navigate, but it was manageable, --now it seems like one big labyrinth, which a bunch of links still pointing to the old server while some direct you to the new...  From what I understand when it comes to this kind of upgrade, one usually has two entirely separate working versions of the website, first working simultaneously, and then dropping the old one for a smooth conversion to the new. Here, it seems like some sort of chaotic mish-mosh... Of course, some difficulties and issues are always to be expected...  But hopefully the powers that be will reflect a little more on how to improve site navigation. Like lots of people, there are some pages I don't even know how to find anymore...

But, of course, I am here because this is the most supportive photography community that I have found on the internet thus far. It's the people that I love, --I can be patient about the code, since I know it is a work in progress (still, I feel a bit concerned for those with paid accounts!)

Anyway..that's just my two euro cents.  I hope you are all happy and well!

Just noticed something in FireFox. I was browsing my gallery and viewing my uploads. When I click on you get to a small view of the image with the comments below. Now you can zoom in by clicking the image. However the popup doesn't size up to fit the image so I'm left with a scrollbar. There is enough room on my screen to scale it up though, so that can't be the problem.

When I viewed the same page in IE I couldn't zoom in, it required me to log in (obviously I'm not logged into RR in IE). What's the deal with that? The small view is just a scaled by HTML version of the image.

Please see the Announcement post in the Community Center forum titled Information on resizing images. This new info that will go into affect sometime within the next week and that should help

3DGuy ( ) posted Tue, 20 June 2006 at 6:38 PM · edited Tue, 20 June 2006 at 6:40 PM

That thread is about resizing it into 700px and people not liking it (not that I like it, but that wasn't the point of my post).

My point was that when I click an image for larger view the popup that shows the actual size image isn't large enough. I get scollbars. It's not like that for all pictures, just a few wide ones >1000px
like my 'Glen Coe Pass' and 'Rannoch Moor' entries.

It also says nothing about having to be logged in to see the actual size images.

Yes but you will have options to control how you see them now. Are you reading the Announcement post about the options that are to come for the viewers and the uploaders?

Margana ( ) posted Tue, 20 June 2006 at 7:23 PM

Hi Stacey.

I see you are online now.Would you mind please seeing my thread about ebots, since that's a problem I've been having.

(I would link to it for you,but the last time I 'linked' something, that person ended up logged in as me. :^/   )

Thank you. :^)

Sigh... that doesn't change the fact that the script that generated the popup is faulty.. at least in FireFox. I also haven't seen anything about having to be logged in to view the fullsize image.

Please provide a link to the post(s) where these issues are addressed.
