I need to export a bmp or tiff from poser and when I do it has the wording "camera 1" at the top left and the lines which represent the ground on the background movie as I am exporting a still from a preshot avi..Got the ground lines out but still have the camera 1 wording...any advice and thank you.

Be certain you're exporting your render and not the document window itself.

Do a render and then click on the File menu and select Export; then select Image and the program will prompt you for a type (jpg, tiff, bmp).

So I would have to render first before I can export a still?  Please advise and thank you.

Yup, you need to render 1st.

The "preview" window is exactly that - it shows you a (degraded) version of what the render might look like. Render, then export...
