That resizing the pictures thing is a PITA.

Dear Dr Geep;
I'd appreciate that very much.  I find myself lately doing more Mapping than Posing; when I at best have but a rudimentary knowledge of that subject.  Using UV Mapper Pro, I find myself working by hit and by miss (mostly miss) in trying to achieve my goals.
My list of failures is a long sad litany, the telling of which I'll spare the forum members.

BTW, I'm copying the tutorial gifs to my Hard Drive.  When you're finished posting, I'll assemble them into a single unit in Adobe Acrobat.  I definately have a need to master magnets too!

I'm assuming that even though the external graphics might be different, that everything that you do here is also essentially viable in Poser 4 and Pro Pack.  I think that point needs to be made for some of your viewers.

To see magnets, you have another choice (3 of them actually), look in the "Display->Deformers" menu, to find:

"Show All"

"Hide All"

"Show Current selection only"

..the default is Currently Only, which is why you need to select the magnet or the body-part it's selected to.  If you switch to Show All, you see them all in the editor window and if you switch to Hide All, they stay hidden, even with the body-part selected.

No problem DG... I find it particularly usefull to "Show All", when I go to save out all the magnets for later use (you're going to cover that, right?! :) ), so the thumbnail shows them all.

It's a real pity that this sort of detail isn't included in the manual. OTOH, in another way, it's not, 'cos it allows maestros like Dr. Geep to shine!!!

Here is another interesting thing.  If you pull the magnet up away from the base
it of course pulls the mesh up.
But if you push the magnet below the base it repells the mesh.
So instead of getting a bump on the box, you get a dimple.
I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere, but it would be great
if you wanted a character's finger to look like it was
pushing into something, just put a negative magnet
on the object the finger is pushing against.
