Subject: farming renders across a network

Hi all,

I'm starting to take the step from "playing" at animation to producing something of commercial quality.

A friend has said he saw an application on here that allowed for rendering to be farmed out across multiple pc's on a network.

he can't remember what it was called, and as he's become a bit of a snob when it comes to poser (why don't you just buy a copy of 3D Max like I did, and be a REAL animator?) he didn't really pay too much attention to it.

Does such an app exist?
Any pointers would be great :-)

Thanks

I dont think its been mentioned on here, but I have done  alittle research into this myself a little while back....

To build a render farm the 3D application either has to include such a facility (will cost more above some number of nodes), or you buy multiple licenses and use 3rd party software to do the job distribution.

Sixus did produce a script or scripts for doing this with Poser, but I'm not sure where of if it's still available.

The details of what capability is available depends greatly on what the application is, as does the cost.

It doesn't mention Poser, but I'll download the trial and give it a go

Cheers  :-)

Link for Pose-Net, but it appears not to be available at the moment (it may be one of the products Sixus1 sold to E-Frontier).
