Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 14 12:36 pm)
The base version (I think) takes textures designed for the GIRL only, V3UV takes Vicky textures (as well as all 3rd gen Mil figure textures). But thanks for telling me about the low poly one.... I had no idea!??!

Actually, the girl blank is for the creation of things like conforming clothing and poses, since there are no morph channels that could be affected.
All of the Mill 3 figures have that blank, and all for the same reason, and unless I'm wrong, the blanks aren't that much lower in polygon count than the full versions.

If you're joking that's just cruel, but if you're being sarcastic, that's even worse.
Agree with modus0, the girl "blank" is the same high-poly model to use in clothing creation. It is normally not used in renders. the GIRL normal is UVmapped completely different from V3 or other milfolk, as you can see compating her textures to V3 textures in any jpg vieweing software. This UVmapping has its limitations as there are way too few textures for the original GIRL. The GIRLV3UV is mapped almost exactly as V3 and thus is able to use V3 textures, expanding her use. Same goes with MayaDoll. Hope this helps :) Michal 4blueyes

Actually I'm probably completely misinformed as to the 'Blank' figures intended uses. I just thought I read that the girl blank was included with the other figure versions in the girl pack and was described as being good for background low-detail renders. Not for primary figure render use.
But then again I cant be 100% and I'm sure that both of you are correct. So anyways, I can just apply most any of my V3 textures to the girl V3UV straight forward with no other steps other than normal texture application???
Thats cool! thanks for the knowledge. You guys Rock!
Just a bit of clarification (re: blank figures)...
I may be wrong, but I think that the blank figures are included with a specific purpose in mind.
The blank figures don't have any morphs. So they're ideal for creating new morphs to create new characters for distribution, since it's a lot easier to package all the morphs so that they can be injected without including any of the copyrighted morphs by mistake...
I could be wrong...
Cheers,
Diolma
PS - it's the low-resolution figures that are best used for background figures...(same approx shape, but less polys).

I recently purchased the girl and it comes with 3 different bodies to pick from.
I understand the girl 'blank' is for low polygon renders that dont need alot of detail. But whats the difference between the girl 'normal' and the girl 'V3UV?
For some reason the few textures I have been using only work with the V3UV version of the girl.
Can someone explain exactly how to use any and/or all V3UV versions of all characters? As I have a mayadoll V3UV also.
