Subject: Anyone here use Maximum Pose?

Hi- I know that Konan was working to make Maximum Pose able to fully transfer ALL material settings (including transparencies) but his website hasn't had the info updated in a very long time. The demo can't demonstarte this, so I have no way of knowing. Can someone share their experiences with maximum pose? Also, does it handle transparencies well? How often does Max crash when you are using animations from it? Thanks.

I haven't used it in about a month. It does handle the transparencies bump maps, etc. It makes use of your Poser pz3 and the obj animation exports to find the location of the textures. Now for things like bump maps they need to be in bmp, or jpg form. Honestly though I liked the prior version for it's ease of use though it lacked the extensive file location mappings. Initally the new one crashed a few times, but then I found out you had to have MaxPose pointed to right obj files and poser files. It's very specific. I only ever had crashes from running an incomplete max script. Things like how many obj files you could select at once have been fixed. Very important if you are importing several thousand frames of animation. If you have max I'd suggest getting it. I still don't know how to weigh the pro pack max plugin .vs Max Pose. But Max pose is always my first choice in conversion. -Director

I have to say that I prefer MaxPose 2 over the PPP. It works wonderfully for me, under Win 2K and MAX 3.1. It just wont crash ! Its a must-have in my toolkit.

Thanks for the comments. Can I impose to ask one of you to do a 1 frame render of a poser character with transmapped hair in max. I'd really like to see what it looks like. I'm surprised Konan hasn't included images like this on his website. From what I hear, his product is a really good one, but you wouldn't know it's capabilites from just his website. I hope to buy Maximum Pose in the next few weeks. Aharon
