Hi people, The likeness I am trying to achieve is at the link above. (Brendan Fraser, The Mummy) I've tried a tute on how to get likeness in a poser character... I didn't have much luck. The tute was one where the author joked(?) that their "victim" thought they were an 18DD in chat. I can't remember the url, sorry! Anyway, I'd just like to get detailed suggestions on how to do this... or links to more tutes. Thanks in advance :) ----- April AprilsVanity.com

Hi, I haven't done any myself but the first thing I would do is go to Morphworld (provided link) and download the morphs for P4 male. Load them onto your character (select the body part, click on Object menu, Load Morph Target, click on locate and browse to where you unzipped the morph to, select the morph, in the label box type in name of morph) and play with the dials. You'll probably need morphs like nostril flares, furrowed brows, fuller lips, etc. Second thing would be to get a hold of or create a texture: http://johnontherun.ezdir.net/ has alot of P4 male textures that you can use. Just by looking at that picture, you'd probably have an easier time making DAZ3D's Michael figure look like him...but again, with all the morphs Morphworld has, it's still possible with the P4 Male. Hope this helped.

What I do is try to get at least three views of the person, front, side and 3/4. With those in hand (sometimes used as a background in poser) I use the standard morphs to tweak and play with the face. Sit back and see what it can't do. I then go to morph world and download anyhing that sounds promising to fix what isn't there. Tweak some more ... then if that doesn't do it I use magnets and make morphs to finish it ... Hope that helps?! S

hey, my link actually showed the image. sorry for the size! i'll have to remember that... thanks lourdes, i will download morphs from bbay, i was just there yesterday :) i wonder if there is a male character like azura ready to download with all the morphs loaded already... that would be handy :) (i'm gonna try the freebie method first... michael looks good but everyone's got him and you can spot him a mile away... and i rather like the freebie characters members here make :) ) ghost, thanks, yep, got heaps of pics for reference. :) tweak, tweak, tweak i guess! thank you! i needed the push as much as references ;) ----- April AprilsVanity.com

I used a picture of Brendan's face on a texture map once, but without the proper morphs, it doesn't really look like him. However, he does make a great texture for generic Poser guys, as do several other celebs. I used Tim Curry on a texture that turned out great. So you might find a very high res image of Brendan facing forward, no smile (I never really found a good one) and create a good texture map. This will help with some of his characteristics (and he does have some great ones, doesn't he? ;) Melanie

From what was being posted in the Morphworld egroups mailing list (no longer there) I believe a male version of Azura is in the works. Lourdes

pant, pant, pant.... oops sorry was looking at the photo. Last I checked morph world had the Mike & Vic morphs back up, although there aren't many as for the P4's.

Http://home.hiwaay.net/~mhongser/art/PoserFace/index.html I found a tut on this site using real faces( your own or someone elses) to overlap a texture file..then apply it to the p4 character. If you have morphs, then you can tweak and peak( fine tune) your character to look more like the real image used. hope this helps.

I use Nendo for morph making, with one or more reference pictures open in other windows, since Nendo doesn't allow a background pic. It has tools to pull vertices around, and a great 'tighten' function which will smooth out areas of a model without adding vertices. I haven't had much success with magnets in Poser myself. I guess Nendo and I are old friends now, and I just feel comfortable with it. I agree that good reference pics are essential. Ian

melanie, yep, hard to find a really good pic, but i'm not too worried about the texture... yet. or at least i wasn't! :/ searose, that link is returning 404 for me :( ian, i don't think i can afford another app! i'll be happy with an approximate likeness for now :) thanks people! you guys are cool :) (don't understand all the complaints about the community feeling being lost, i've gotten heaps of help and i'm a complete stranger thus far and haven't provided help myself yet! i think i'll stop reading the c&d forum... it's a bit skewed?) ----- April AprilsVanity.com
