HI gallery is gone, and I heard he got banned. Does anyone know why???

We don't discuss anything to do with other members' accounts (other than deaths reported to us) with the community, or even other members.

Sorry. I just wondered!

Drifterlee I sent you  a PM.

I found a link to his private site, but can't post it here because a link he has there violates the TOS here.

Quote - Cute = Young here

I'm making some young looking faeries right now, and while their naughty bits, nooks and crannies are covered, and I think they're adorable, I doubt I'll be adding one to my gallery here anytime soon.  Small breasted, young face, and most faerie poses available for V3 and PT girl are not conducive to the TOS here.

I like it here  :)  and while I'd love to post a cute faerie in my gallery, the mere thought of doing so freaks me out completely.

It was "The Frantics" first on their CBC Radio show then on their short lived CBC tv show "4 on the Floor".  It was bad '80's Canadian humor in the vein of Monty Python with skits and such.

That's where Dave got his name from, one of their reocurring skits.  It was pretty funny at the time but I was a dumb kid in smalltown redneckville BC!!  LOL!!

Attached Link: Child Image Guidelines

There's absolutely nothing wrong with posting cute faeries.  So long as, if they appear humanoid (not all faeries look human, ya know) and young, they appear clothed age appropriately (see thru fabric doesn't cut it...if we can see nipples, it's semi-nude) and not in seductive poses.  Our Child Image Guidelines have been in place for well over a year.  If you have questions or don't understand parts of the guidelines, feel free to contact any one of us Moderators or Coordinators to answer questions.  That's what we're here for!  And, if you ever create an image that you think we may question, email it to one of us first, so we can preview it before you upload ;)  That way, if the rest of the staff feels it's not ok, you DON'T get a black mark on your member record.  We would much rather work with and cooperate with members who want to do the same than ban anyone.  We're not trigger happy, and we do give people at LEAST 3 chances.  (with the exception of Warezing.  We're not too keen on that)

The image tiquanleap got banned for had 43 comments of praise so that whole "determining the age is at the descretion of the moderators" is crap.

This is a private site and those of us here are subject to having to follow rules set into place.

Just like in life, there are some laws that I'm not keen on, but I follow them anyway.  Here is no different.  Some rules I like, others i don't, but it's not my place to pick and choose which ones I will follow.

I consider myself a guest here and have to abide by the rules the host puts into place.

Thanks all. Dave emailed me and said he was very hurt. He had a large fan following. You'd think the mods would have just taken down the picture or asked him to do it. I have a lot of Thorne and Sarsa's girls, but I afraid to use them because their faces look young. While we are the topic of young, what do you think about the guy who confessed to killing six-year-old JonBenet? I don't think it did it, but just wants the excitement. Whoever did do it was a real sicko.

I don't think he did it either.  I still think the parents had something to do with it.

That guy from Tailand  was reportedly quite obsessed with the crime and just looking at him he doesn't seem 'all there", so I think he's confessing to something he didn't do, as so many others have done with various crimes in the past.

The picture in question was not a thorne and sarsa character, it was a v3 based character by Wyrmaster who aparently has no store here any more.

JenX ( ) posted Fri, 18 August 2006 at 9:07 PM · edited Fri, 18 August 2006 at 9:08 PM

sigh  It doesn't matter who the creator of the character is.  If the majority of staff deem that the model in the image, whether it's poser, 2d, Photography, or anything else, appears to be underage, we will remove the image if it is nude, sparsely clothed (i.e., if we can see any part of nipples and/or genitalia), or provocatively posed (unless, as the case may be with photography, we get a model release with proof of age).  While it, finally, at the discretion of staff to judge the image in the case of age, we're not saying "don't create it'.  What we're saying is "Don't post it here".  If you've got your own website to post them, feel free to do it there.  But, remember, that, in doing so, you're also at the mercy of your host.  If someone finds it offensive, or even deems it to be child pornography, your entire site may be pulled.  In this day and age, you can't be too careful, and, we tend to err on the side of caution.  You, the artist, may not view the model in your image as underaged, but, if they appear to be, since Poser/DAZ models don't come with model releases and ID cards, they'll be removed.

It's the big eyes that make them look young. A lot of folks remember those tacky big-eyed child pictures back in the '70's. The mods need to state "Big-eyed females will be designated 'too young'", LOL!!

JenX ( ) posted Fri, 18 August 2006 at 9:23 PM

It's far from the eyes.  If you actually look at the body, the body themselves look very young, regardless of the head.  Many characters who are meant to be faefolk appear nubile, young, and fit.  Not a bad thing, really, as they've been depicted that way for a long time (they've also been depicted in other forms, but we're not talking about that right now.)  I'm not just picking out Thorne and Sarsa, because, frankly, it's not their fault if you (general, not pointed) either don't want to take the time to clothe the figure, or want to post a nude render of one of their characters here.  It's YOUR job to read the TOS, not theirs to point it out to you.  By the way, it's on the right hand side, last link before the newsletter sign up.

the problem with gauging age (I know I spelled it wrong.  It's late here) is not only the fact that all humans are shaped differently, but the fact that everyone sees something different.  Which is why, unless it's a case of an obvious TOS violations, we don't remove images without MUCH discussion behind the scenes.  We don't do this willy-nilly (and I swear on a stack of Bibles that I've said that exact phrase about 100 times on this very subject), and you don't get banned on your first offense (unless, as I've said before, your offense was warezing).  You get a few warnings before we pull out the Mighty Banning Stick™.  Again, if you choose to not follow the TOS after around 3 warnings, you get banned.  Sometimes, it's only for a few days, especially if we feel that a vacation could do you some good.  Sometimes, it's a permanent ban, and that's used only if we feel that, even after repeated warnings, you're just not listening to us.

Renderosity, as a community, belongs to the WHOLE community.  Not just the loudest demographic.  It's not fair to jeopardize the community for the few that wish to post images that we've already deemed as violations of the TOS repeately.

You completely missed the point.

I hate to have to agree with you on the TOS but it is what it is and there is nothing that members can do about it. Abide by the Tos or don't post. Pretty simple.

drifterlee ( ) posted Fri, 18 August 2006 at 10:12 PM

I'll tell you what's offensive - it's the way parents let their young teen daughters run around dressing with short tops, bare tummys, and tight jeans or short skirts plus lots of thick makeup. They look like call girls. My mother would not let me wear makeup until I was 16. Ugly clothes, too. Thank God my daughters were into the grunge look, LOL!  Oh well, we need to retire this subject, I think.

Which, for all intents and purposes, is really the same thing.  Yes, some things get missed when  checking the galleries.  The Poser gallery is a very fast-moving gallery, so it's really hard to stay on top of every image that gets uploaded.  Every once in a while, we miss images that should have been discussed.
