Quote - As one other thing... do yo uhave any reference images of your own to show the kinds of things you're looking for? Would be easier to help your quest if there were reference image from your side of the table, too.
I'm working from the Evangeline Walton covers for costume types (and that's scant resource, if you know the two sets of covers) and my imagination so far. I have some visualizations, but I'm not sure where they are coming from. A Wyeth look. Blousey heavy fabrics for the men, a bit like RenaPD's Cossack stuff or the DAZ Gypsy things. Not historically accurate but believeable and realistic.
And yes, it's the Mabinogi, but as interpreted by Walton. Just getting started; nothing done yet but noodling.

Well, sigh. Between both Norses and the Celt, I'd have some of what I'm looking for. And be creeping toward $100. Trouble is, all four are warrior-oriented, which means I'm buying an armload of swords, helms, and shields just to get the right shirt. And I still wouldn't have the pants or cloak. Good ideas, though.
Thanks,
Mick

Does this link help at all? Also, what figure were you looking for the costume to fit (although I think dynamics would work best with most of this clothing type, so maybe a generic costume could be made to fit anyone with a little scaling)

Figure: I'll probably use either Apollo or Don, but M3 stuff will do. I have WW.
Ideas: I thought I posted this last night, but apparently not. I'm imagining Pwyll to resemble Vercingetorix in the famous "Surrendering to Caesar" painting (a book cover and one of the most frequent hits if you Google "Vercingetorix" in Images). I know, not Celtic and a millenium too early, but there you are. As I said, I'm working on Walton, not historical accuracy, which gives me as free a rein as Tolkien's illustrators. And I have the excuse that the Welsh writers of the tales didn't feel any need to research historical accuracy.
Link: Thanks for remembering to put a "_blank" in your link. That ought to be the default action for forum links. As for the link itself: Bingo. One of the thumbnails (men3.jpg) is EXACTLY what I am looking for. Bookmarked, and thanks.

Anyone got a line on ordinary Medieval clothing? I need an outfit for a Celtic nobleman (not armor) in the period from 800-1200 AD. Viking, Gaul, and Saxon close enough.
Thanks,
Mick
