Are both the same figure? If so I'm guessing crosstalk problems. If they are different figures, you may need to save a pose for each of them, meaning 2 pose files instead of just one.

Consider me insane if you wish, but is your reality any better?
Hi, well the idea is to save them both together because it would be a matching package. But that does not address the reason they will not retain pose. I know that it is possible to make a couple in specific poses. And it is a Male and Female so I would think they wouldn't keep mimicing the others stance, then again I could be totally off. So are we saying that it can't be done? Two figures in the same pose? When I load the pose on the male it is copied by the Female...and vise versa. So that is the problem. Saving it as PZ3 is not the problem. Saving them to my pose folder as a pair is. OK, if anyone else has a suggestion I am open. ThanX to you bwldrd! I appreciate your response.

I don't have P6, but I think pose files work the same in all versions of Poser. Not sure I entirly follow what you are trying to do, but... As far as I know you can't pose two figures at the same time with one pose file (unless you edit one of the cr2 files to change the names of its actors). When you apply a pose it is applied to the currently selected figure. So to pose two figures diffrently you need two pose files. There is a way to pose two figures with one pose file, but it involves editing one of the cr2 files to change the names of its actors, there are a few caveats associated with it. Its probably not what you want to do, but if you want to try it, I can post details. As to positioning issues, remember that pose files saved from Poser do not contain any pose data for the BODY actor. You either have to position the figure by moving the hip, or edit the saved pose to add positioning data for the BODY.

I think what you need to do is save the pose for one character as one pose file and then
save the pose for the other character as a second pose file. Then when you want
to reload the poses you would click on the first character and apply the first pose
file to that character. Then click on the second pose file and apply the second pose
to the second character. All the couples pose files I have ever seen work that way.
So you would have pose files of say Hug_M and Hug_F, Kiss_M and Kiss_F
and so on, with the _M applied to the male character and the _F applied to
the female character.
Quote - Whenever I've seen pose packages that include 2-figure poses, I've always seen them as two distinct poses - you apply one pose to the male and another to the female. That's probably the way to go. Can't help you with the X-Y-Z movement stuff, though.
Basically it boils down to how does Poser recognize which character to act on?
As far as I know the only way is to select it. And you can only select one character
at a time as far as I know. So if there is another character in the scene, how
would poser recognize it to apply the pose to it at the same time as you are
applying the pose to the first character.
Make sure also that you have moved your characters to their respective positions by moving their hips. If you moved them into position by moving them with Body selected, the pose will not save their position. Example, if you posed the figure say, 5 on the x-tran and 6 on the z-tran, with Body selected, the saved pose would not save the x and z tran value. If you apply those positions to the Hip part of the character, with the Body x and z tran back to 0, the pose should then apply and place the figure to the position you want it.
I have to go to the bank right now, but I will get back shortly and try your suggestion raven! I have all the poses saved as PZ3s right now, so it should just be a matter of reopening them and resetting the X and Z to 0...right? Then save the pose file? Can't wait!
