Subject: BIG problem, poser 6, cant use ANY textures.

Hello everyone i have a really big problem. I cant apply any textures to any figure, and all the saved scenes characters iv saved, open up without textures. When i try to open a saved character with clothes and body textures. Poser 6 says, (Texture could not be loaded. Image map file could not be found, or there is not enough memory.) And when i apply a texture to an already opened character poser 6 says, (A requested texture map does not exist or can't be read.) It's almost as if poser 6 cant read the textures. Can i have deleted some file? Since this happend poser 6 opens up in like 20sec, which is not normal for me. I have so much stuff installed it usually takes about 5 min to open. Can someone pls tell me what to do.

Just tried Daz/studio and i can read the files there. So some file or something must be missing. Im glad it works there, cause no i know its just poser 6. And there must be someway to fix it. I dont know how tho =/.

I hate to be the one to suggest something so possibly stupid, but I'll say it because its happened to me.  Are the textures gone when you render, if not, check your document style and see if its set to "smooth shaded."  It should be on "texture shaded."

Like I say, its the poser equivilant of forgetting to turn on the iron, but the simplest answer is quite often the right one.

Hehe. No that's not it :). When i go from smooth shaded to texture shaded i get the same thing from poser. (A requested texture map does not exist or can't be read.) And yes i cant see em when i render =). Almost as if i dont have any textures in my runtime, even though i have LOTS of em.

Are you on MacOS?  I seem to be suddenly running into strange issues with images after updating to the latest QT - BUM maps (extension changed to .bmp) show flat green.  PNGs show weirdly.  That said, though, Poser uses its own set of libraries (ImageIOPlugins) - so it would need to be even lower than QT (filesystem or worse).

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.

I reinstalled poser and put the old runtime in the new one, it still dosent work :(. This is so annoying. I dont want to reinstall all those gb's of files again.

Ugh!! No matter what i do or try i keep getting the same error. I installed poser for the third time. To try and copy over just the Geometries, libraries and textures folder. But still the same thing. And its just to much to reinstall. I really really need a fix for this :(.

question:

did you moved your runtime or installed a new version since using the items?

if so, try using CRPro to correct the file references in the library files.

I have the same the problem, the textures are there in the material room but the little yellow error triangle is above them.  even after deleting the current figure or even restarting poser, i load the figure check material room and it is fine but as soon as i start to render i get the error messages. and D/S also has no problem with the figure or the textures
