Too cute!
I have one of those now ... she was rescued from outside by my 5-yr old granddaughter but has decided that I am hers (and not the other way around!). She sleeps with me which is a real pain, literally, because I haven't had her declawed yet. She gets that and a spay job next month.

Lovely new owner Chris. Should be happier with you and the missus and no kids around.
@ Belle1947...................I can go with the spay job, but who the hell thinks cats can do without claws? How can she scrape the litter tray etc etc etc!
Would you like it if some doc removed your fingernails, so you couldn't put furrows down your other half's back?

Trying to figure out if that's a very large teddy or a very small kitty.
Anyway, congrats to all concerned.
This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

That's absolutely correct, pakled, only the front claws. She loves to knead me at night but her claws are long and sharp. Since she's going to be an inside kitty she won't need the front claws for defense and my back and furniture will fare all the better for it.

How about trimming nails...... at first it is a pain in the back.. I got to tell you.. but later both you and kitty gets use to it and it goes smoothly... 1,2,3... done! specially if you give them a treat after...
what? I get a treat when they clip mine.... jees saaasss

my god people declawing a cat, claws are its only defence in this world. you can trim them and yes i have done that to my cats and it never affects them in anyway, just watch you don't hit the quick(pink skin in the claw). If you have problems doing the clipping use and old way i used. Place a little bit of butter/margerine on the back of your hand(one holding paw) and let the cat lick it clean, by the time it stops you'll have both front paws done..
Bryster glad you found another cat to replace the one you lost mate, its always hard trying to replace a loved pet you have had for years. I'm getting to the stage now where i need to think about having my dog put to sleep. She's 14 years old, she's got arthritise in the lower spine and looks like she's may have cancer as well.

opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.
What an adorable little baby! I'm so glad you decided to get a new meow-baby.

WOW! THanks for all the comments, guys!
Bit of history since Popeth moved in, She's about 11 years old and used to live on a farm. Se had kittens but the farmer's dog killed them. She then lived with an old lady for about nine years and never left her side. The old lady passed away and my son rescued Popeth.
But Popeth couldn't deal with my son's other cats and his three year old son (my grandson) didn't understand that Popeth wasn't the kind of cat you could drag around the house, so Mrs Bryster stepped in.
Popeth seems to have settled in ok and even crept onto my lap last night - curled up and went to sleep! Looks like I have a new owner too....................

Yeah, I've been trying to resist contributing turning this into anti-declawing thread, but it really bugs me... a lot... sorry :(
Seriously, I'd rather buy a new couch then have my babies fingernails cut off or pulled :( my kitties are more important then a piece of furniture.
Just think of it this way... how much anguish do we experience over a loss of a beloved pet?
How much anguish do we experience over a loss of a couch? (I never heard anyone say.. I lost my beloved couch... usually it's more like, it's time to toss this smelly worn out thing out)
New couches and little scratches just go with the cat ownership, just like chewed up shoes go with dog ownership. Makes it for a good excuse to 'refresh' house furniture.
Pleeez, don't declaw your kitties!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just because kitties or puppies, or any animals really, can't verbalize to us that something hurts or bothers them, it doesn't mean it doesn't bother them. It just means that us people are clueless about reading what bothers them!!!! Remember, they are little hunters, they evolved to be good at 'not showing' pain. It doesn't mean they don't experience it.
They just end up suffering in silence. :(((((

Bryster you got a nice comment from my wife when i showed her the cat and explained what size the bed and teddy was.
Her comment was, bet the teddy is just like The Bryster, big and cuddly no wonder the cat is close to it.

Mrs Bryster is pleased to welcome her new owner to our home.Introducing 'Popeth', a worthy replacement - if that's the right word - to Sooty who died in tragic circumstances recently. She's a very quiet, even placid bitofeverything cat who has taken to sleeping on the bed in one of our guest rooms. Popeth was rescued from our son where she was in constant competition with other cats and our 3 year old grandson.
