Subject: Importing objects doesnt appear properly

Hi! Sometimes when I try to import .3ds or .obj files into Poser 6, the object appears to have some holes in it. Like its not solid or some parts of it are "semi-mesh" (for lack of a proper term). What setting do I need in order to import these objects properly? thank you.

It sound like your having trouble with normals. this is usually something you fix in the original program before you import, but you can try using the "mak polygon normals consistant" but that doesn't always solve the problem.

if you could post a printscreen of a problem it would help.

Here's a screen capture of the imported .obj model in preview. Look at the windows.

ok, i see.

that looks like double sided polygons (which poser doesn't like)

you should be able to check the "normals_forward" in each of the materials and it will render good. Preview wont look any better but the render should be fine.

Thanks. I'll try it and let you know how it turns out.
