Subject: how do I do this?

I want to in PS7 make a pic for the bg.....day on one side and nightsky on the other.......how do I blend them in the center? Kinda like a gradient blend.

Thank you,

D

Do you have the day and night images on separate layers, one on top of another? Create a layer mask on the topmost layer, and within the mask, make a gradient that fades from white to black. That should make the topmost layer fade into the one below it. :)

...that is the problem...I played with the gradient command...I have no clue how to do this. have only thus far used PS for basic post to 3d images....I need to make a bg of half day and half night blended at the middle. do you know of a tut somewhere?

Thx for replying,

D

I don't know offhand where there's a tut for that, and I don't really have time to create one or to try and explain my instructions. Just do a search in Google ... you'll want something that deals with gradients in layer masks or in alpha masks, so use those search words.

I made the nighttime sky by adjusting the levels from the daytime sky, there are other (better) ways of doing this, but I needed something fast... You can adjust the fade depending on where you start dragging and where you release. Best is to try different starting/ending positions... Good luck

Coming soon
