Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 07 7:37 am)
Thanks for all the comments. LeBurns, don't worry...she's far from finished. In these pics, I was just trying to get the pose nailed down, and decide on the helmet. There's still her expression, and lots of work to do on the armor(blood from the wounds, etc). The pose still needs some tweaking, to my eyes. The idea was that she's having to lean on her sword for support. I'm not sure if I got the effect as much as I wanted to. -Kage
The armor's FREE! Can you believe it? I was asking if there was any free armor out there, and a friend told me about this one. I was expecting...well...not something so good. I mean, this armor could EASILY be sold. With the exception of the helmet and the arrows, everything I used in my render came with the armor. The sword she's leaning on also comes with the armor, as well as a flag and a sheath which are not pictured. The helmet and arrow was supplied by my good friend Wizzard. Special thanks to Yoroi for making the armor, and to TJ for directing me to it in te first place. Anyway, here's where you can get it: http://www.lvn.co.jp/poser/DLCloth.htm
The helmet is called "Barbute Helm", and Wizzard didn't make it, he can't remember who did...maybe AoD or RealmsWarrior. I just needed some medieval props, and he was good enough to show me to some. He thinks it's available at the the 3D Commune freestuff(3DCommune.com). The maps I used on it are the the 2 reflection maps that come with the Yoroi Orleans texture download, so the armor would all match. Just apply the gold to the crest, trim, and rivets, and the silver to the helm. Another tip for those who've asked how I got the armor to look so good, is that you apply the same highlight color to every piece of metal plate(not chainmail), that's silver. I also added a hint of blue to the lights. The reflection map on the sword...I believe is one of the metal maps from the Predator figure...though I don't remember right off the top of my head. I agree, the helmet does go very well with the armor. Several people have commented on how big it looks, but I assure you, it's scaled down as far as it can go. If I scale it anymore, the top of her head and her cheekbones begin to poke through it. -Kage
one of the things about getting olde.. is ye tend to forget where ye find stuff... I remember dl'ing it from a freestuff area.. either here or at the commune... the read me was buried in all the many many readme's that I have.. if I can locate it.. I'll give ye the particulars... Dark Props comes to mind for some reason.. but that might just be where I placed the textures? sigh Most of what I've made isn't ready for prime time quite yet...
