One of the first people I met on this site was Richard Kane(RKane_1). He was a really cool guy who was more than happy to help out a poser newbie. One of the many discussions we had was about the 'Female Warrior' craze, and the impractical armor they wear,or rather, don't wear. We talked about how we felt it was possible to have a woman in plausible armor...'cuz really...how much protection is a chainmail bikini going to offer?, and still be...sexy. With the discovery of how time-consuming, and kinda boring, making a skin texture is, I decided to give this a try. I can't decide on wether to go with the helmet, or not. What do you guys(and girls) think? Thanks, -Kage

very nice, the best looking, most realistic female armor ive seen so far. the helmet looks a little too round and big, but so is her head so maybe its the pose :) love the chainmail texture too.

VERY good work KAGE

Ohhhh I love it with the helmet! It does seem a teensy bit too big, but it looks great! It really frames her face. Makes her look very sexy. Mission accomplished!

It's a great set of armor. I was kinda hoping their would be a Vicky version, but it looks like with Vicky 2 that will be solved. I like both the helmeted and non-helmet look. Perhaps she's wearing it at the beginning of the fight and then it gets knocked off at some point durring the battle.

Nice to see something realistic for a change. I wouldn't a thing...

Fox-Mulder ( ) posted Fri, 27 April 2001 at 3:36 AM

...that is, I wouldn't CHANGE a thing... (It's a nice change, so don't change it...)

I like it with and without kage....the choice is yours. If you are staying with the helmet version..maybe a little but more resizing would be better?

Nice! I used the Yoroi Orleans on my Paladin. Course she hasn't been shoot up with arrows yet! ;) Very nice work on the pose and such. I like her better without the helmet. Need some kind of pain expression on the face though, arrow hurt! j/k

Kageboshi ( ) posted Fri, 27 April 2001 at 3:59 PM

Thanks for all the comments. LeBurns, don't worry...she's far from finished. In these pics, I was just trying to get the pose nailed down, and decide on the helmet. There's still her expression, and lots of work to do on the armor(blood from the wounds, etc). The pose still needs some tweaking, to my eyes. The idea was that she's having to lean on her sword for support. I'm not sure if I got the effect as much as I wanted to. -Kage

So- where can this armor be had?...

Kageboshi ( ) posted Fri, 27 April 2001 at 5:56 PM

The armor's FREE! Can you believe it? I was asking if there was any free armor out there, and a friend told me about this one. I was expecting...well...not something so good. I mean, this armor could EASILY be sold. With the exception of the helmet and the arrows, everything I used in my render came with the armor. The sword she's leaning on also comes with the armor, as well as a flag and a sheath which are not pictured. The helmet and arrow was supplied by my good friend Wizzard. Special thanks to Yoroi for making the armor, and to TJ for directing me to it in te first place. Anyway, here's where you can get it: http://www.lvn.co.jp/poser/DLCloth.htm

Excellent work by all...

Kageboshi ( ) posted Sat, 28 April 2001 at 4:44 AM

She's thinking 'Damn that's a big helmet...'

GrayMare ( ) posted Sat, 28 April 2001 at 9:06 PM

I like the helm. It works very well with the Yoroi Armor. ISO did such a great job on that. Is Wizzard's helm (with the maps you used) available anywhere? GrayMare

Kageboshi ( ) posted Sun, 29 April 2001 at 12:01 AM

The helmet is called "Barbute Helm", and Wizzard didn't make it, he can't remember who did...maybe AoD or RealmsWarrior. I just needed some medieval props, and he was good enough to show me to some. He thinks it's available at the the 3D Commune freestuff(3DCommune.com). The maps I used on it are the the 2 reflection maps that come with the Yoroi Orleans texture download, so the armor would all match. Just apply the gold to the crest, trim, and rivets, and the silver to the helm. Another tip for those who've asked how I got the armor to look so good, is that you apply the same highlight color to every piece of metal plate(not chainmail), that's silver. I also added a hint of blue to the lights. The reflection map on the sword...I believe is one of the metal maps from the Predator figure...though I don't remember right off the top of my head. I agree, the helmet does go very well with the armor. Several people have commented on how big it looks, but I assure you, it's scaled down as far as it can go. If I scale it anymore, the top of her head and her cheekbones begin to poke through it. -Kage

one of the things about getting olde.. is ye tend to forget where ye find stuff... I remember dl'ing it from a freestuff area.. either here or at the commune... the read me was buried in all the many many readme's that I have.. if I can locate it.. I'll give ye the particulars... Dark Props comes to mind for some reason.. but that might just be where I placed the textures? sigh Most of what I've made isn't ready for prime time quite yet...

Wizzard ( ) posted Fri, 27 July 2001 at 12:29 AM

Xurge? It may have been by Xurge.. I've been looking at the others I have that I know are done by xurge and they have the same construction 8 ) so that's a distinct possibility... and that's what ye get for playing Shad 8 )

doozy ( ) posted Fri, 27 July 2001 at 12:55 PM

Wouldn't a warrior (female OR male) wear her hair very short? Then the helmet could be smaller, as desired.
