I´ve posted this shot in the gallery but unfortunatly it´s the only photo i have on my harddrive that shows where i live....which is 15 kilometers outside this smaller town called Örnsköldsvik on the swedish north-east coast. This was taken a month ago before we had winter come knocking at our doors....so now this landscape is covered in snow instead of mist...sniff....sniff.
How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when
isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is
supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Wow Andreas that looks so beautiful matie. How many months of the year do you get snow?
We are lucky we are getting some good rain today. Not looking to good for Australia in the future years to come. Drought in majority on NSW. And the temperatures are slowly increasing every summer. Water restrictions apply alot of the times. Sad to see what will become of some Countries. We all tend to take so much for granted.
Thanks for sharing mate.
Chris
Thank you Chris. I suppose it is kinda beautiful where i live. I can sure think of a few places that aren´t as pretty. The downside however is our long winters. We´ll have snow from late october till april...early may. So winter is almost 7 months long for us...sniff. So you do get quite sick of shoveling snow and picking Eija´s paws free of ice.

That is her personal leaf blower, BYW.
Chris, actually it is not Atlantic City. The city I live in is a small town a few miles from the one where the wall of plaques(pic) is located. That city where I grew up was built in the early 40's to help develop the atomic bomb ("atomic" city). The city was a secret overall and even the workers for the most part did not know what they were working to do..just doing a job as directed. It is in Tennessee, a lovely state in the USA.
Fine thread! Ahh...Sweden and Belgium look so nice...I suppose to live anywhere will sometimes make "someplace else" seem appealing. Tom.
We plan a trip to Great Britain next year...first time and excited to do that. My wife will have to take a "Beatles Tour" as part of the visit. Hope to get to Ireland and Scotland, and perhaps Wales where most of my folks came from, on both sides of the family. Some picked up a little native blood when over here! It is still in planning stages and nothing booked. Tom.
There are plenty of gators in that area...I've seen a few..if the water is brackish where you are, you might not have any..
It's nice to see these shots..

It is about 12 years old I believe, maybe 13. It is post hurricane Andrew and built to the new codes. You can't really get a home with such a nice 'lake view ' anymore down here unless you shell out some mega-bucks. It is gotten so expensive, and developers are making the retention ponds much smaller. Our property taxes went up over $1K this year and don't even get me started on insurance, though having hurricane shutters helps. We hear stories of people that have to sell now because they can no longer afford to live in South Florida. The housing bubble has broken for sure. 2 years ago prices were skyrocketing and people were buying and selling homes left and right. We're in for the long haul. :)

Thanks Tom, we'll do our best. It is a lovely area. Too bad the camera fund is taking a beating though. Manning, I totally hear you about getting outta town. ;o]

We just had 2 storms go thru here & more coming I think.. Saved me from the lawn mowin lolNaaah. Just kidding. The yellow lemony one. Smack in the middle between a liquor store and a BBQ shack and smack right in the middle of Florida.
What more can someone ask for? The way to my office is also extremely tough.
Around the corner in the same building.
