Hi Everyone, I live in NSW Australia. This photo is of our old farmhouse. We are currently selling it and going to build another.  Love to know where other members live and if you can, love to see a picture of your home or country. Have a lovely weekend. Chris:tt2:

Lovely farmhouse and countryside there, Chris... those trees are amazing. This is the train station of Ternat, some 15 km (and 15 minutes by train) from the centre of Brussels, the capital of Belgium. You can see a tiny tip of my house on the right side of the picture.

This might be a fun thread...i do belive i´ll join in on this one. 😄

I´ve posted this shot in the gallery but unfortunatly it´s the only photo i have on my harddrive that shows where i live....which is 15 kilometers outside this smaller town called Örnsköldsvik on the swedish north-east coast.  This was taken a month ago before we had winter come knocking at our doors....so now this landscape is covered in snow instead of mist...sniff....sniff.

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

The arrow is pointing to our house...if you open up the bigger image you´ll probably be able to see it even....house that is...arrow´s abundantly visible even in smaller...bla bla...

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Wow Andreas that looks so beautiful matie. How many months of the year do you get snow?
We are lucky we are getting some good rain today. Not looking to good for Australia in the future years to come. Drought in majority on NSW. And the temperatures are slowly increasing every summer. Water restrictions apply alot of the times. Sad to see what will become of some Countries. We all tend to take so much for granted.
Thanks for sharing mate.

Thank you Chris. 😄 I suppose it is kinda beautiful where i live. I can sure think of a few places that aren´t as pretty. The downside however is our long winters. We´ll have snow from late october till april...early may. So winter is almost 7 months long for us...sniff. So you do get quite sick of shoveling snow and picking Eija´s paws free of ice. 😄

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

This is four parts of where I live. The driveway and little show is at our home.  The "me" in front of the wall is in a neighboring city, after WW 2 the city was recognized as existing. I grew up there. The dock scene is about  1/2 mile from our house.   This is where my wife and I live.    Tom.

That is her personal leaf blower, BYW.

Dianthus ( ) posted Sat, 04 November 2006 at 4:56 PM

That is gorgeous Tom. Atlantic City, in USA. So it snows there and for how many months?Love the dock photo. So beautiful. Thanks for sharing mate
Chris

TomDart ( ) posted Sat, 04 November 2006 at 6:26 PM

Chris, actually it is not Atlantic City.  The city I live in is a small town a few miles from the one where the wall of plaques(pic) is located. That city where I grew up was built in the early 40's to help develop the atomic bomb ("atomic" city).  The city was a secret overall and even the workers for the most part did not know what they were working to do..just doing a job as directed.  It is in Tennessee, a lovely state in the USA.

Fine thread!  Ahh...Sweden and Belgium look so nice...I suppose to live anywhere will sometimes make "someplace else" seem appealing.                   Tom.

Thanks Tom. Nice to know where different members live. See their homes and country. I have travelled a little but hope in the future to go to Europe. Been to the states twice now. Gorgeous country and people are so friendly.

We plan a trip to Great Britain next year...first time and excited to do that. My wife will have to take a "Beatles Tour" as part of the visit. Hope to get to Ireland and Scotland, and perhaps Wales where most of my folks came from, on both sides of the family. Some picked up a little native blood when over here!  It is still in planning stages and nothing booked.       Tom.

Wow well i look forward to seeing heaps of photos next year. Beatles hey?

This is a picture of my back yard. LOL.  I am presently living in Charleston South Carolina. This photo is a view of the marsh land and the water is the Wando River which connects with the Atlantic Ocean just about 3 miles away. We have several signs on the property saying " Beware of alligators". I haven't seen one yet but when I do I hope to get a shot of it..... Karen :)

bclaytonphoto ( ) posted Sun, 05 November 2006 at 2:11 PM

There are plenty of gators in that area...I've seen a few..if the water is brackish where you are, you might not have any..

It's nice to see these shots..

Chris,

Thank you! I am only here 22 weeks but I think tornadoes are rare here, but, hurricanes are very possible. Charleston was hit by Hugho 15 years ago. But thank goodness hurricane season is over.  Again ty for the birthday wish. Karen :)

Nice thread! We had similar ones, but always with new photos. This is not the back of my house, but the grey one is the same style and color, though the roof of my patio is a V-shaped and not flat.

Nice spot Kort. Yeah amazing how our homes can look so different.

TomDart ( ) posted Tue, 07 November 2006 at 7:20 AM

Kort, how old is that home? It has a very neat look and of the sort expected in that area.  thanks!

TwoPynts ( ) posted Tue, 07 November 2006 at 9:14 AM

It is about 12 years old I believe, maybe 13. It is post hurricane Andrew and built to the new codes. You can't really get a home with such a nice 'lake view ' anymore down here unless you shell out some mega-bucks. It is gotten so expensive, and developers are making the retention ponds much smaller. Our property taxes went up over $1K this year and don't even get me started on insurance, though having hurricane shutters helps. We hear stories of people that have to sell now because they can no longer afford to live in South Florida. The housing bubble has broken for sure. 2 years ago prices were skyrocketing and people were buying and selling homes left and right. We're in for the long haul. :)

TomDart ( ) posted Tue, 07 November 2006 at 6:10 PM

Kort, best wishes on the long haul..I do understand that!  The home is lovely and has the look I would expect of the area. Very neat and older in appearance in design.   Hang in there, friend!

Or course, keep a few bucks back for photo stuff..that is a necessity! LOL  Tom.

Firesnuffer ( ) posted Fri, 10 November 2006 at 5:06 AM

Thank you Dianthus, it is so very peaceful out here!  There are some brush fires out here but fortunately there is a fire station within a mile of my house (I've tried to transfer out to it but none of the guys at that station want to leave, LOL.)

Although not exactly were i live, this recently developed old "abbey" was were i spent many days playing as a child (more than 25 yrs ago), when it was derelict. It had many tunnels in its grounds were we used to wander around, and we used to get into it through a small tunnel which went into its cellar. We always said it was haunted. the origanal grounds were designed by Cabability Brown

Great idea. My home is the one next to my car - the gray one.

Naaah. Just kidding. The yellow lemony one. Smack in the middle between a liquor store and a BBQ shack and smack right in the middle of Florida.
What more can someone ask for? The way to my office is also extremely tough.
Around the corner in the same building.

Cheers
