Are you trying to import them as a single OBJ or are you importing them one at a time? I can't imagine Anim8or's interface would deny more than one object in a scene.
Edit:
It may be easier on you if you try it with WINGS, as there's a forum here for it. Also it may be a bit easier to find folks familiar with using Wings for Poser morphs than you may find with Anim8or at the moment. I myself used to be a WINGS user until I discovered Silo. :)
One at a time. I import one, but when I importthe second, it replaces the first instead of joining it. Unfortunately, the manual doesn't cover this aspect of the modeller.

Quote - actually, the second object does not replace the first. anim8tor loads into a new file. you can jump from file to file via the object dropdown menue. select the second object and copy/paste it into the first file.
Yes, that seems to have fixed that particular problem, now to learn how to effectively use the different tools. I worked a bit with Anim8or a few years ago, even got so far as to create the articulated Gingerbread Man, but the eggplant always escaped my comprehending -the stem wouldn't bend like the tutoral when I applaid the bending tool. So I gave it up, then. But I'm back to now.

Hmm..I wonder if you could just export the parts you need to join? I know there's been some 'Frankenstein' (pronounced - 'fron ken steen'..;) threads that explain how to do that. not in Anim8tor, but in general.
Anim8tor is a cool, single-file program that fits on a 1.44 floppy, but I'd still check out Wings. The amount of polys in some of the Poser models makes even Wings get 'jerky' on import. Then there's the scale thing...;)

I Use anim8or quite a lot. To make morphs and clothes.
Export each group you want to work on from Poser and put the vink at " As a Morph target".
Try : Export the head and export the neck. Save in a special folder and use recognisable names.
Open anim8or
Import obj, and import the head.
Import obj and import the neck. Oeps, the head is gome (from the view) but still there.
In the Obj drop down menue select the one you want to copy on the other==> Copy or cut as you like
Select the other one (it will become visible) and paste. Head and neck are now "reglued".
Make your morph by pushing the points around.
To export do the reverse. Select the neck "cut" and paste in a "new file". Export as obj.
The head that remained behind can now be exported.
I use this all the time : rebuilding the complete model in anim8or, morphing it, and then exporting group by group. Re-import into Poser as morph targets.
Attention, never delete or add any points, Poser will not accept it.

Very easy, let anim8or and Poser do the work for you.
I normally only start with a rectangle, i block deep, 2 blocks wide and maybe 5 blocks high. The rest . . . is magic.
I"ll tell you soon. Tony

I'm still fairly new at this, but I thought I'd finaly try my hand at a litle modelling. I want to make a composite neck to create a hybrid character. I've exported the neck of each of the figures as mesh objects. But when I try to import them into Anim8or (Object/Import) to cut and join, I end up with either one mesh or the other. I can't seem to import them both. Since the Anim8or Pdf manual speaks of joining mesh object together, this should be possible.
Any and all help would be appreciated.
Yours truly,
