Poser Technical F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 12:50 am)
Welcome to the Poser Technical Forum.
Where computer nerds can Pull out their slide rules and not get laughed at. Pocket protectors are not required. ;-)
This is the place you come to ask questions and share new ideas about using the internal file structure of Poser to push the program past it's normal limits.
New users are encouraged to read the FAQ sections here and on the Poser forum before asking questions.
Two things come to my mind : 1.)When you edit the numbers in those boxes. Don't hit the "enter" key like you would normally do with other programs. 2.)Open Windows explorer. And right click on the .cr2 file for that figure. Select properties. Then see if the Read-only box is checked. If it is. Un-check it and put a check in the "Archive" box. The Read-only option won't let you update them. ScottA
it wont work either way, the files had read and write permissions, and usually I dont press the Enter key, but the tab or even choose with the mouse. anyway the Enter key does nothing on the center points of the Joint Editor. I got a workaround , editing the Coordinates directly on the cr2, but the now the problem returns when I am tweaking the joints. Everytime I click on a falloff zone, or make it on/off (whenever theres the option) the center points reset to 0 for that object and ruins everything. I am getting crazy, none of the tuts outhere speak anything about this, RoyR, Nerd, etc.. I have read most of them.. you got any ideias? Az
yes, all of them, even if it is a Poser figure, anytime I try to modify a joint parameter the center point resets to zero. excptions are bulges and alignments. it works withthem.. but with center coordinatez,(origin and End), falloff zones and joint angles it resets.. I have reinstalled poser, I have the last update installed.. I have a huge headache, and getting bald!!! :) Az
Well, I just seem to have found the problem, but now I really feel stupid!! :( I have lost a lot of time and never occured me that the problem might be windows 2000!!! it works fine on ME or 98 !!!! is there any notice of poser being incompatible with Windows2000? if not, this bug should be posted to check if there is someone else with this problem ( it stil might be my configuration) , and warn CL about this. maybe they have a patch or something.. dunno. anyway Thanks for your promptly Help to this Now feeling terribly stupid guy! :) thanks Az
It's so silly!!!!! we know where the mistake is coming from: We, as European are using a comma instead of dot for writing a decimal value! Now it's clear, why you never got this mistake! F.e. just type -0.043 instead of -0,043 In our case it's working now! We are going to send this message to all the other fellows in the 'outlands' Greetings Matthias

hi, people I need your help, I am making some conforming clothes and I just cant insert any values on the new conform ( center points ) to match the matching body. whenever I type any numbers on the text boxes, the center wont budge, and if I click anywhere else the values reset all to zero... I just cant make anything like this, is this a bug or just plain dumbness of my part? please help on this, I am losing my hair here!!! thanks Az
