Subject: Scaling Figs

gchuck ( ) posted Sun, 19 November 2006 at 11:49 PM · edited Thu, 25 July 2024 at 10:02 PM

I've been playing with D|S for about 3mos now, and am very much happy with my progress. One thing that confuses me is...scaling my girls. Vicky herself does just fine, but some of the free clothing I've dl'd does not seem to cooperate, ie. is usless. The items show a '-100' on the scale, when they should read'100'. Any movement/input into the scale just produces an ever increasing negative number that produces a crop top the size of a circus tent! If I leave them alone, they work just fine. Suggestions? Witty reparte'? Chuck

There are some scaling problems in the current version of D|S. I get the exact same problems as you're detailing.

Hopefully they'll be resolved in the next one!

Yes, this is a known bug. Right-click on the slider and add 200 to the value you want. So if you want the clothes scaled to 95%, type 295 and hit return.

Cheers - never realised that!

Add 200? I'll give it a whack, and see what happens. Thanks for the tip.

Have you checked to see if your clothes are set to a "fit to" mode? This will cause havak if you try to move them or rescale them. Try turning the fit to off and then rescale. Also if you try to use poser 5 or 6 conforming clothes in Daz, they won't work. Try some poser 4 clothes and see what happens. Also there is a freebie called "scaleit " rescaler plugin available that will drop right into your Daz scripts folder that may help (I got it but I can't remember where, deep in the old renderosity archeives). Try to do a search under utilities in the renderosity freebies section.
