Well, no surprise there, it looks like they got their inspiration from Miazaki's "Howls moving Castle". Maybe not his best movie, but you can't blame the techniques used.

For those who don't read the Artmatic forum, here is a post for a wonderful website with the most interesting animations. Each frame looks like a HDRI IBL render with loads of detail. Many elements moving at differing speeds - needs to be seen to be appreciated. I was impressed to say the least. This could be done using Bryce 6, but I imagine a high-end app was involved...Takes a while to load for those with slower connections, but worth the wait. :-)
