Subject: OT using excel to log products

Marque ( ) posted Sun, 17 December 2006 at 8:51 AM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 9:12 AM

Ok, got all my orders into excel with copy paste but now have a problem. The orders are separated and no matter what I do I can't get the columns to add together, i.e. using the sum function. Since I could only copy paste one page at a time I now have them separated. Say I want to find out how much I have spent overall. Can't do it will only do it for each block of items. Is there any way other than putting the items in one line at a time to fix this?
Thanks,
Marque

Not really sure what you're asking but if you just want to total your money spent, just put all your cash figures in one "column" and do "autosum" in the last cell of that column!

Sorry if that's not what you were asking!

I don't know if this will help you at all, but Bob Coleman created the Poser Download Tracker for this very reason, and it will import excel (or Open Ofice) files, so long as they are set up properly.  I don't know if there's a way to do it without manual work (sorry).  I prefer the Download Tracker, since, well, I can organize by artist, add pictures of the product directly from the product page and it caches it with the program, and I can print reports in varying ranges simply with the choosing of an option or two.

Oh, and it's free.  I like free.

Thanks know how to do that. The problem is there are lines separating the columns and so it will only do a few. Every page I copied from my account came up as a different page. I have almost 900 items so there are a lot of page lines. It's almost like a set of tables. Don't know if I'm making myself clear here. I need them all in one table, not separated. Even tried copying the entire worksheet and re-pasting but it still keeps those breaks.

Husband woke up and figured it out....lol
Thanks Jen going to try that one. Anyone ever check how much they've spent here? shudder!

Also, I have yet to fill mine up completely.  I'm quite afraid to, actually   It might mean that I may have a problem (that I've been able to cure, lately, with being completely broke  )

What do you use as the product id?
Thanks,
Marque

JenX ( ) posted Sun, 17 December 2006 at 10:29 AM

usually, I use the product name from the order page.

For instance, with DAZ products, I use the SKU (V4 - ps_bn075)
Renderosity, Poser Pros, and RDNA - the name of the z.ip file without the .zip (Firebirdz "Baby Love" for Baby Doll Hair - FC_BabyLove39240)
...etc ;)

Thanks for the link, Jen.  I also grabbed his php download manager for my site.

I can definitely use this but I'm afraid to total the $$ I've spent at all the sites over the past 5 years ... LOL.  My sweetie is as bad as I am and when we combined our totals last time we both fell out of our chairs.

While it may be nothing, I suggest being careful on the Coleman website. There is a reference in the FAQ to a DAZ forum that when clicked requests your DAZ password but is not a secure page (no lock symbol at the bottom of the page). If you have already typed in your email and password, I suggest you log in to the DAZ site directly and change your password immediately!

fuaho, I'm going to direct Bob to this thread, but could you elaborate which link it is, so he'll know?

Thanks

**This is located in the FAQ:

Can the program automatically scan my hard drive for what I have?**
Since there is no way for me to know the filenames for every possible package out there the answer is no. But there is a tool that can be found at http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=20962 that can get you started. Be sure to read the help on importing information.

The page that opens is not the DAZ login page, so I don't know if there is just a simple error or there is phishing going on, but I thought folks should be aware.

Thanks for your interest.

quick check; what format are the figures going in? If you copy them in as 'text', you won't be able to add them up. Go to Format, Cells, highlight the column, then select 'numbers'. That might be it.

Quick follow up,

when the link is clicked from my above message, it does go to DAZ with a lock symbol.
when the link is clicked from the coleman FAQ, there is no lock symbol.

Hi!

The link I referenced in the FAQ is the "Poser Products Database Companion" by sammy2 at DAZ and hosted by Mystic Nights.  I don't know why the forums at DAZ are not remembering you when you click through as it seems to link through to DAZ just fine for me.

The direct link to the program is at:  http://mystic-nights.com/poser/downloads/Utilities/Poser-DB-Companion/index.html

As to the comment about phishing, I am busy enough with my own life and I certainly don't have the time or desire to have anyone else's identity.

All that said, I have noticed that I have an old link in the menu going to my old comcast pages so I'll be fixing that sometime tonight. 😉

I was able to do it after I copied them to a new sheet. They were in $ format already. Almost wish I hadn't now that I see how much I spent here...lol

Oh I understand that feeling. lol   Take a look at this:  http://thelamp.homeip.net/~bcoleman/pdt/webpdt.php?vendor=All

It is a bit out of date but you get the idea.
