MACROSS!!!! I have an old book from darkhorse... any way! check with royloo, I think he already has one... copy and paste:http://www.royloo.com/free.php he did me up nice with a cool yamato(starblazers) and some sweet macross(robotech) mechs and props! but free work? right now always! I like my ideas, but working for me, I dont push myself, so I dont learn. I cant ship a file or render out until I like it so I push harder on someone elses Idea, but not for long. once I get really, really, better than I am, I start charging! (gotta pay for MAX 9 somehow...)having tried all 3, I found Wings the easiest. I tend more towards buildings and spaceships, things with curves tend to throw me (IRL too..;) Might make a stab at it, but can't promise anything.
We have a Wings forum here, lotsa helpful people, so give it a shot. All you'd be out is some download time..;)

Note- for some reason, one of my picture viewers has deprived Paintbrush (quickie job..;) of the ability to save to jpg. For some reason, it will do bmp or gif, and if gif, it 'de-colorizes' it. The colors are just material zones that can be used to Uvmap it. haven't tested it in Poser yet...brb..;)

pakled- you have the basic shape correct, but it's flying upside down! ;) Don't forget the "aircraft crarrier" left arm and "battleship" right arm. Check out the attached Google Image link for more shots of the SDF-1. Note that it can change from "ship" mode to "robot" mode.

ah. There were about 7 different ships. I've never seen this show/game/whatever, so I literally don't know my up from down..;) I knew these were 'transformers'...;)
I dunno. I'll take a look about making more of the ship, but as for the transforming part, that'll take someone better'n me..;)
thanks for the reference pics, tho.

These ships are from "Robotech", specifically, the first series, "The Macross Saga". This was a great anime series that focused on characters and a storyline... rather than on selling toys (like Transformers, He-Man, G.I.Joe, etc).
If you're going to make a transforming SDF-1, it helps to have either the Robotech DVD's or a plastic model or the comic book series.
We purists could also get into an argument about what the "correct" version is: should it be the green "organic" ship that crash-landed on Earth in the first episode, should it be the version without the "battleship" and "aircraft carrier" arms (seen in the first few episodes) or should it be the version with the arms.

well, I missed out on these. Last anime series I paid any attention to was someone digging up an old Japanese battleship (the Yamato), and putting it in space..;) I dunno..some of that stuff leaves me cold; physically overdeveloped 6 year olds (at least looking at the eyes..bit pervy for me..but I'm an old f*rt anyways..;)
