Eventually will. I found that site last week, the images kill me, lol. Awesome stuff.
I just haven't had time lately for nearly anything 3D.ย ;o(

Yep, I read that one in the Carrara forum, but I didn't know if Bryce could import the scene file with the right camera setup(can't Bryce do .obj files?) Theres some awesome lighting and spheres there, and I set the view to 30 or so on that site, ...didn'tย see any Bryce at all(but I also didn't go through them all either, there is ALOT). Wish Bryce had a site like that for S.O.W. , lol.ย ย
???http://www.cgsphere.com/
From what I read all you need is the sphere, background, and grid texture. The lighting is part of what you set up. You should be able to import dozens of the provided formats.
Brycers are different. Maybe we could have a teh cube competition?
Bryce CAN import .OBJ so in theory the Wavefront.obj zip should work for you. I'll be checking it out in B6 later today.
This site is awesome and the scope of imagination ver impressive. Hats off to these guys!
Thanks to cricket for the thread though!

Yeah, I downloaded the .obj version.
All they are basically asking is you set up the basics of the scene to look like their template in the composition, fov, camera position, etc
After that,ย its all imagination.

It's a f****ing nighmare!ย
The Bryce workspace doesn't allow you to view an 800 x 800 view in its entirety because the B6 doesn't have a vanishing toolbar.ย So you have to reduce your screen to maybe 700x700 I think you have to render out at 800 x 800.
I've set things up according to their template but every time I compare mine with theirs I see something wrong.
If I get it right does anyone want me to post it here???????????????

Downloadย the Wavefront.obj Template.
Unzip to a new folder.
2a) Open Bryce and set your page size to 800 x 800
Import the sphere_template_wavefront.obj
Select DIRECTOR's VIEW
Rotate the .obj and adjust the sun to suit your needs.ย This is just a quick repoz so that you can see what you are doing.
Select theย TEMPLATE PLANE (that's the ski-slope bit)ย and select the attribes icon.
Input the data on from the first of the grids I've screen-capped here and OK.
ย ย ย Remember - youย shouldn't need to adjust the SIZEs - just the Position Attributes.
Double-click on the TRACKBALL and when theย DIRECTOR grid appears, enter the data from the second of the grids I've screen-capped here.
Render at any rezย you like.
This should give you a pretty good start when you compare your render to the SPHERE_TEMPLATE.JPG they've included in the zip file you downloaded.
You can hide the sphere until you finish setting things up.
Now go to work on your scene, but remember - DON'T ADJUST THE DIRECTORS VIEW AT ALL EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
I've done it this way so that you can use the CAMERA to work on your scene.
If I've got any of this wrong or you can do it better - knock yourself out!
You must carefully read the rules/instructions they include in the zip.
Goodluck!

Why do you have the objects and camera at a 45 degree angle?
Why is the camera's X axis at -1.72 degrees?
Everything is supposed to be dead on...
How does it look with those settings?

Well, I downloaded the Carrara version and took a look at that, the render out of that nails the template picture perfectly.
You would think this would be straight forward in Bryce. Line up the camera with the sphere at zero degrees, put the FOV at the equal of a 50mm lens (which is 39.5978, or as Bryce rounds it up to 39.60)
But, no. The grid lines never match up.
Sigh...curse Bryce and its non-real-world measurements, lol.

*My sentiments exactly. It looks just fine for me, but then I'm on Mars....!
I'll post a screenshot whent B6 finishes rendering.

No it doesn't - it just sez it does.

I've basically got it now.
And, of course the girlfriend's home and dinner is at hand.....I swear....once I don't need food, sleep, a girlfriend, to pay rent to the landlord....then I can Bryce in happiness.
I'll dial this in even better and show the results a little later here.ย ;oD

Grrrrrr.....I'm getting weird problems. The horizontal lines, line up (close enough). The vertical lines are what I'm trying to dial in...and sometimes those lines on one side of the sphere will all be lined up but not on the other side....and everything is dead straight. (objects, camera)
...I'll keep working on it. May have to crash soon though.

This person in the cgsphere site has posted a render done in Bryce. Here it the link.. (let's see if I can do the HTML tags here.. first time I'm trying this...)ย
Here's the URL:

Artist name: doc64. The render: "WOTW"
Using just the supplied, un-modified Targa grid image, I found up-ing the anti-aliasing to super fine helps. Those missing grid lines started showing up.
Also, making improvements to the gridlines helps too. My mind is blank for terminology, right now, but if you mess around with the grid to give it a bump, that helps too.
This is amazingly annoying trying to get everything matched up right. Here's a screen capture of how's it going for me. I am overlapping their template image over the Bryce window (I made this little transparent window at 800x800 to compare as Bryce renders.) It might be a little hard to see, but the Bryce rendering are the faint lines. I haven't messed about with the sphere yet.
But it's like harder than pulling teeth. Has anyone had more success?
Rats! Having trouble posting a zip file here. Anyway, AGOR did a super job. I pretty much matched his work, got the sphere itself closer to the original template. But that's not a big issue since the sphere doesn't have to be exact. I'm impressed with AGOR's work. Just need to get the grid plane's horizontal lines near the camera lined up.

The trick to posting zip files here is to rename it *.jpg before uploading and those who download it simply remane it to *.zip again before trying to unzip it.
