Umm I don't think what you are saying is quite true.

I ordered the Poser 7 upgrade quite late, about the time they anounced the morph ability, I also live in Australia.

I received the download for my order on the 12th. It did take a long time to download being such a large file, but other than that, no problems.

To be honest I've never bought anything from CP other than my Poser 6 & 7 upgrades. I haven't been able to really find anything that jumps out at me and says "Buy me". As fas as my poser orders I've never had a problem. I'd like to purchase more from CP but it's just not happening yet.

I've bought loads at CP, and although their customer support is close to non-existant (with Ratscloset as a notable exclusion) their store works perfectly for me. I pay with Paypal and get an instant download every time I buy something (well not Poser 7 of course, but even that I was able to download at the first day with no problems)

I won't have any hesitations buying there again.

One thing though: I've never bought anything shippable from them. That MAY make a difference.

It means that you don't get a Tracking number. I think  Ratscloset mentioned in some thread over here or at CP that they do not provide tracking numbers with the USPS shipping.

And this is the email that tells you that your product is shipping since it's written at the end of the mail:

*If you ordered a physical product, your order has shipped, and you can view the status of your shipment using the tracking information in your order details above. Serial numbers for physical items are included in the physical packaging.

thefixer ( ) posted Tue, 19 December 2006 at 4:54 PM

That's the trouble though Puntomaus, there is NO tracking information in the order details.
There's an order number, a shipping method [USPS global express] and a tracking number [NOT ENTERED], that's all there is!!

My problems were not with CP, but with EF itself, I purchased from the EF store directly, it wasn't until I had Poser 6 that I even knew CP existed.

Dealing with the EF webstore has been nothing but a giant headache, but I never had a problem with CP.
That being said , I NEVER purchase items from CP through the Poser CP room, because Poser always tries and fails to install, and then I have to redownload again.

I always use my web broswer (firefox rulz) it's more responsive and I can use my download manager to accelerate the DL.

Might buy Poser 7, won't buy any CP stuff. Unless they remove Content Parasite, which is enough of a turn-off for me to blissfully ignore anything they come up with, just because I'm an ass that way when it comes to people trying to sell me stuff. 😉

I got a tracking # wuth my order but to find it I had to go into E Frontier and look up my order. I used that number to find out it was going to sit all weekend even though it was here becaus eof no delivery on Sat.

Got it though and yes, I would buy from CP. I have before many times and never had a problem

Common Denominators - Shipping Carriers (Fed-Ex, UPS, DHL) and the Holidays...

You want to look at the way other are acting before going off on me. All I am responding too are offensive and rather mean-spirited complaints, were a bit of patience and a dose of common sense might actually serve people better.

Don't like, don't read.

(Edited for spelling... Man, you would think people had better things to worry about. )

I agree that CP has been subject to mean-spirited complaints.   I have a ticket open there at present, but I believe (and hope) that I was polite.   The fact is that you don't help matters by reacting the way you do.    I have customers, too, and I know I could give heart attacks to some of my betes noires, if I really spoke my mind, but I just have to hold back, whatever the provocation.

I've been lucky. No CP problems yet. Order dP7 and it was shipped  a week later.

thefixer ( ) posted Thu, 21 December 2006 at 2:15 AM

DarkEdge: We must have a different way of shopping at CP, I put what I want in the cart and go to checkout, after paying I'm automatically re-directed to my purchase to download it, so no clicking!!

If you need to re-download anything you only have to click on one link [my stuff] and that takes you to all your downloads!

I don't mean to be offensive to anyone, I just don't have a problem there, Sorry!

arcady ( ) posted Thu, 21 December 2006 at 3:19 AM

Contrary point:

The Poser 7 experience has boosted my interest in shopping at CP.

In my opinion. the shopping process at the site is very easy to use. I've found the staff accessible, interested in addressing my concerns, and willing to take measures to address not just their goofs, but my goofs as well.

I also understand the concept of a reasonable delay in getting things done. Reality doesn't deliver instant gratification - sometimes a little patience goes a long way.

Formerly I had a lot of comments about things such as the pricing of models like Miki and Apollo Maximus. AM is now gone and in my opinion, no loss. Miki is an easy and cheap grab for people who get into the Passport Club or got P6CE.

I still feel Passport Club could do well with monthly pricing - when the 6 months are up I might not be able to renew simply because of a limited budget. I pay monthly at Daz, even though it is more expensive to do so, because its easier to manage.

Yes there are people with order problems. There's a large rollout from a small operation to a large community that is very active online. Every problem gets aired in public. Some of the problem, such as the comments about slow physical shipments, are simply lack of proper patience. Some are user error in downloading (using wireless, having a virus, etc), such as the poster in this thread who admitted to using a download accelerator. Some are slips on CP's end, and some are due to the nature of internet traffic priorities, ISPs, and so on.

But overall, I'm gaining a positive impression, especially with regards to the public face they put on their efforts to deal with the problems, even in the face of some users who are less than polite over the problems.

I had problems in the first stages of my order - but I noticed them myself right after pre-ordering because the first thing I do when I order is go back and read everything and make sure I did it right. And I discovered I had not, and then contacted them. It took a few days, but I find thet quick, given the scale of the rollout. Even under normal business that level of time would be normal rather than slow.

They were very polite with me, very helpful, and that is how I see them reacting to others as well. I was polite with them, but some haven't been so - and yet they keep it professional.

So, overall, I'm gaining a positive opinion of CP.

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

Now that we're discussing the CP store... Does anyone else have the problem I have? I find it very easy to use when I shop there but there's one little quirk: Things I've bought doesn't disappear from my shopping cart. So next time I buy something, whatever I bought there last time is still in the cart. Sure it'smarked with "You bought this item on..." (or something similar I can't remember the exact wording) and that at least saves me from buying things twice, but.. it just puzzles me.

I'm paying with PayPal in case that matters :)

3DVim ( ) posted Thu, 21 December 2006 at 9:39 AM

I second arcady's points.

After failing the first download attempt (ended up with a big corrupted file), I suggested in CP's Poser forum to break up the big P7 app file into 10+ parts for easier download.    Although they dismissed this the first time with a reasonable point, they eventually offered a Multipart (14 or 15 files) option for people to download after I suggested it (to the same staff krazik) the second time.

To be honest, I'm surprised by how fast he managed to adopt customer's suggestion and implant it into CP's site/system, even during such a heavy rollout period.
I asked politely, too, and I got a very positive, gratifying result.

btw, before thinking about spending more money at CP, I (as well as many of you) still have the 6 month Passport to download tons of freebies (more than 500MB in total I think) there.
So at least  I'll be a happy shopper at CP for the next 6 months.   👍

But on CP, with downloads i never had any trouble with them.. i got some boxed versions from E-F and got them within days.. NOW P7 from CP ... its starting to get realy irritating to see all those P7 mails here ... i did order on same day as i got the Pre order mail.. and look what i brings me
Shit, nothing, zero, ... and a Help ticket ..is only repleyed to when its not a difficult question ...
CP needs to be more friendly to paying costumers ....

IMHO they made a big mistake doing this just before Xmass...

I didn't get my P7 tracking e-mail but I put in a Service Ticket and got a response within a couple of days (there was a weekend in there).  I got my physical copy of P7 on the 18th and I ordered an item from there this morning  which I downloaded with no problems.  With the PC discounts, I can often purchase Renderosity items at Content Paradise with better discounts than the offers I get directly from Renderosity.

I have the items I bought previously still show up in my cart sometimes and sometimes they are gone.  It doesn't matter if I've paid by PayPal or by credit card--it happens both ways with both types of payment.

All I know is that, for whatever reason, there were problems getting my free PC Club disk delivered.  I think they tried shipping it at least 3 times before I finally got it, but I DID get it eventually.

Response time to the service tickets isn't as phenominally fast as at DAZ but they do eventually answer--of course I always try to be polite and include as many details (date, order number, problem, etcl) in the ticket to make solving the problem as quick and painless for them.

They were so well timed to my shopping that I used to think they came as a result of me buying something...

:tt2:

I owe CP a big thanks, so I'll throw my $.02 right in, here!

Monday morning I ordered the P6 Upgrade with a Free Coupon to order P7SE.

In trying to use the coupon to order a Physical Shipment of P7, I realized the Physical Shipment was only for the actual P7 Upgrade; which I did'nt think existed yet...; ).

This also rendered the $11 Gift Certificate I'd purchased, to cover the difference between DL and Box, a waste.

So, Monday afternoon..., I wrote a Support Ticket to EF begging for a Hard Copy.

Today I received an e-mail form John(ratscloset) saying; my original order was canceled, my P5 serial was reset, that a new Gift Certificates(of both GFs I had) had been issued, and to use the link provided to still order the Poser 7 "SE" upgrade!
