Subject: Calling All Aussies - Anyone Received Their P7 Boxed Set Yet ?

mathman ( ) posted Thu, 21 December 2006 at 5:02 PM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 8:47 AM

... or even so much as been notified of the fact that it's shipping ?

I have had neither. I was wondering how to track it just in case it has been shipped, and if it hasn't who should I get in touch with ?

Hi mathman.  Aussie, but no sign of it yet.  I received an email from E.Fronties on 17th Dec saying the order was completed, no tracking No if there was supposed to be one.

I have another friend up in Sydney, she has not received hers either, as of last night.

I guess we have just about run out of time to receive it before Xmas now and will have to wait till after the holidays.  Bummer eh.  Jan

The email telling you the order is completed is the shipping email. It's explained in that same mail.

Btw, I've asked efrontier yesterday about the tracking numbers and got two answers. One from Tori and one from Rich. Their fullfillment company is aware of the problem is working on fixing it and beside that the package should be delivered within the normal guidelines of the service which is about 5 business days (Germany).

Since I've got the completed mail on Saturday the package should arrive today or tomorrow but I know that it will probably hang around in customs and expect it not to arrive this week. Maybe next week or the week after, but that's not efrontiers fault but is more a problem of the customs over here.

I Live in Michigan, US, and I am supposed to get mine today (Friday) just int time for my husband to see I spent $140 Us on it. Look at the bright side. Australia might not get Poser 7 as fast as North America and Europe, but it's SUMMMER where you guys are!!!!!!!!!

drifterlee,

its summer here alright, we've had bushfires all over the place not to mention one of the worst droughts in known history ....

My little black box arrived today. 11 days after receiving shipped email. Not bad considering Xmas was in there.

Puntomaus ( ) posted Wed, 27 December 2006 at 5:33 AM

Still not arrived in Germany. I know a friend in the Netherlands got it already last week and I know it's been delivered to UK so I think it might really sit in some german customs office and no one cares to proceed it ... doh, as if I ever expected anything else from german custom officers 😠

ozbrat, good for you. Did you get a separate EMail with a shipping number ? ... i'm still waiting for that, so I can't even track it.

No just one saying it was shipped. Cos mine was coming USPS I had no tracking number, so I contacted EF about this and they finally replied with Unfortunately, USPS did not provide us with a tracking number for any of the shipments. We are currently trying to fix this problem with them, but in the interrim, there isn't a way to track the package.

However it was supposed to be 5 - 7 working days from when shipped, which is roughly what mine was

PointLady ( ) posted Wed, 27 December 2006 at 4:21 PM

I got mine on Wednesday 28th, came by a carrier for the Post Office, delivered to the door and just had to sign for it.  All installed now.   Most to the Aussies who ordered the box should be receiving theirs by now.  Jan

I live in the Midlands United Kingdom and got mine yesterday :op

Installed and imported a P6 scene I was working on. If I remember rightly this scene topped out at 3.4Gig before it started to render on P6. Using P7 it only used 2.4Gig, seemed to render faster as well.
No problems so far, still playing.

Melbourne here, mine delivered yesterday, have it on screen as I type. Just stopped by to see if there was any news here that might be a warning, like: DON'T LOAD POSER 7 it will erase ALL RUNTIMES EVERYWHERE!!!!! That would be the most extreme scenario but I'm also looking for any other news people might be posting re: Poser 7. There is a thread over at Daz re: Poser 7 renders don't pass the figure alpha. That is specific to using a background picture where (supposedly) P7 uses the background image as an object and therefore represents it as a full screen alpha. I'm thinking there is going to be a way around this but it is a major issue for people like me who used the previous method P4-PPP-P6 way of compositing over backgrounds and depending on the figure alpha for further work. Hope yours arrives soon. cheers,, don

deci6el ( ) posted Thu, 28 December 2006 at 6:38 AM

Malvern Despite the length of times between posts I haven't really done much with it (dinner etc) since. So while I have little to report on changes to the look and feel, I will say it seems to render a lot faster than P6. Render settings themselves have changed in a way that it would be too soon to critique. I was really happy with all the improvements that came with P6 but I had skipped P5 so there were a lot of changes for me that I had long been wishing for. All that to say it looks and feels pretty much like the same Poser. Multiple undo's and "duplicate object" those are two pretty cool new features long awaited. cheers

Yah, I don't understand how come it arrived today because yes it is an Australia Post holiday. I asked the courier where he was from and he said "Messenger Post", I wonder if this is independent of AusPost ?
