Subject: Love to have an older version of apo!!!

Happy New Year to everyone!

I have been going through some of my favorite apo files, many that I have rendered and posted, some that I just rendered for later times and many, many saved params to be rendered at a later time and I found that almost all of the params that were made with the older versions of apo do not exist any more. The renders are there, but the images which was the reason for saving the render, is now distorted , blurred or a big blob! It's really a B**** when a customer would love to buy an image if maybe the color could be changed or maybe rendered in a much larger size, so going back to the param to make the changes is very "HEART- BREAKING"!!! I would love for one of the apo guys or girls to repost atleast one or two older versions (1.05 or 2.00) for people like us, who may need to back and reuse those older params (in an older apo without expiration time). To me that would be the best New Years Wish ever!!! It makes me ill to think that, I so carefully saved hundreds and hundreds of params and now they are all trash, I am not the only person who has the same problem, there are several of us, that could use one of the old apos.
"PLEASE" will someone give it a thought, it would really make this old lady very happy to be able to work with many of my favorite params!!!

Thanks for listening!
P.

I didn't know there was such a big backwards compatibility problem, aside from a glitch in one of the old betas. All my old parameters worked fine last time I checked, but that was two betas ago; maybe something changed; or maybe it's some variation in particular that I don't use.

Have you tried the 1.01 or 2.02 versions available from the official Apo website?

Thanks for your reply! I have heard from many people who have the same problem, since yesterday so many people have tried helping me with some suprising results.

I have found out that apo 2.02 and several versions older than that have solved my problem! Thanks to several people and classylady,  I now have 4 older apos that are working just perfect and the old params never looked better. I was truly glad to see some of them come back to life!!!

Wishing you the best for 2007!!!

I had a great response to my problem with rendering old pars in the new vers. of apo!!
Carolyn (classylady) spent a lot of time with this and came up with several different vers.
that worked perfectly, Petri and vikinglady also sent different vers. that also worked,
one-tough-one and several others gave me lots of help also with suggestions that I had not thought of. I want to take this time to thank everyone who responded. I would say that all in all the fractal community as a whole is a wonderful place to be!!!!

I know that others are having the same problems trying to render old pars, classylady is planning to post some of the older vers. (I think) in the freebie section at  Artnutz.us  for those of you who need them. She asked to give her and Ron a few day to get them posted and believe me it will be well worth the wait to see all those old pars come back to life. It was like looking at an old family album to see how much my work has changed and evolved over the past 2 or 3 years. It was really nice to see them again and knowing that all that hard work had not gone to waste!!!

Wishing the best for everyone in 2007!
Patti

This message will be posted in all other forums that I asked for help, I hope that I didn't
forget to thank everyone. I had such a huge response and I don't want to hurt someone's feelings by accidently leaving their name out!!!
