I get that occasionally.  I think it's my ISP throwing a wobbly which it does quite often, and not just on DAZ site.  I find if I click on a link it all goes ok.

Rowando, I an in NSW and finding the DAZ website wonky for me also.  The main page will eventually open, but not as usually.  However, I can get into the forums OK, but anywhere else is a nightmare and slow.

From what I have seen so far in forums, it seems that Australians seem to be having this problem.  I know of another friend up in Sydney and it is doing this for her also.  We have different Internet Providers also.  Also at least there is another person who is reporting this on the DAZ forum is an Aussie, could be more there though.

Hope they resolve this soon, it has been going on since before the New Year for me.  Jan

DAZ are saying that it is probably a cache problem between us and DAZ I don't know enough about all this technical talk. I am with optus and I have emailed them to see if they can do anything. But like you I can't purchase anything until its fixed.

Of course the more people who email them the more likely they will be to react to it :)

Basically put, there is a technical problem somewhere along the line between your ISP and Daz. I'm coming into Daz from the US East coast and am experiencing no problems.

However, over a year ago there was a "Backbone war" where those areas between the ISP and the websites were pulling a "denial service" and not allowing certain people to access websites.

Basically because of the antics of the backbone providers, people on services like Comcast Cable were not able to access the same websites I was able to access on Verizon.

In the above case, a fourth party was the cause of the problems, not the site or the ISP. So you might want to run a traceroute to isolate the problem area for your ISP to look at.

I am in Australia and I have the same problem. Optus is the provider for me too. I always thought it was a problem with the site itself. It usually works after a certain time. Its odd. :glare:

Hi aussies with Optus - well I just rang them and after having to wait ages in a queue finally got through to someone who was willing to help.

He had me do a trace on the Daz site which was not pinging correctly it seems, so after about 15 pings, he had me copy the info in the box, put it in notepad, and email it the dslsupport at Optusnet.  He also did say that the recent earthquake may have had something to do with it.

So all I suggest is you ring Optus yourself and do this trace (with their help) and email yours to dslsupport at Optusnet yourself.  Hopefully that will fix our problem and we will be able to shop at DAZ again.  Good luck to us.  Jan

PointLady

Did they fix it for you or are you still waiting I think if you can tell us how to do the ping they we can simply email all our info to them, without having to wait on the phone for ages.

Thanks Rowlando

Rowlando, not fixed yet,  although they got the email for they sent back an acknowledgement to look into it.

I had to go to start, then run and type trace-ok then put in tracert www.daz3d.com in the MSDos black box.  It then pinged the web site.  After about 15 pings with no success although it did show some routes, I had to right click the cursor, select all, then paste that into notepad.  That is the text I sent to dslsupport@optusnet.com.au.

Try it out yourself, hopefully I have remembered what I had to do here.  If successful, email yours to the email address I wrote.

Good luck, we seem to need it here with this problem.  I will post here if I get my problem fixed by Optus of course, maybe tomorrow.  That is if it is indeed an Optus problem, but there seems to be a few of us with Optus having this problem.  Jan

Ok I got that wrong, tried to edit, but timed out on this.  Ok it is run but type cmd, then do the rest.  Hit enter when in the black box to continue after your type what I said.  Sorry about that.   Hope I got it right this time. Jan
