as discussed with GiMi53, i post here my original pics token in the cold of winter in Jura, FR, and the postworked pics made here with photoshop7. I work about 1h for this... i try, i undo, i retry, i search... etc... because I have the final image in my mind and i try to repoduce it on my screen...

This pic has been token with a canon eos 20d + Zeiss Flektogon 35mm f/2,4 -> 100è/s@f4 100iso.

mmmm... it's difficult to say. I don't search for a particular effect, just following my sensations while trying to remember my own feeling at the moment of the pic.

Je trouve que le noir et blanc en général rend bien mieux  que la couleur, surtout pour les paysages de neige. Ta première photo en B&W est une merveille ! On a envie de se rouler dans la neige !!!!! Pour la deuxième, c'est vrai que cette touche de lumière sur les maisons est très sympa, mais j'aurais tout de même bien vu un peu plus de luminosité sur le premier plan qui est vraiment très sombre. Mais le tout en fait une photo très agréable à regarder. Bien vu !

oui je suis d'accord avec toi... mais lorsque j'ai voulu faire revenir l'avant plan, j'ai remarqué que je n'avais vraiment pas beaucoup de détails ... :( alors je me suis arreté... malheureusement ...

il faudra que je refasse la photo ! ... heuuuuuuu mais pas tout de suite, c'est à 800km de chez moi lol

Really lovely work on the snowy Jura forest scene. I like that soft touch a lot. May I suggest cloning out the 2 man made poles? They don't add to the scene and taint the purity of the moment. The second one is lovely as well. :)

I like the B&W versions - looks almost like infrared. The small tree in the foreground is pleasantly crsip (really makes it stand on its own) in contrast with the background trees (an almost dreamy softness to them), and it's nice that you can still see good texture in the snow - nice technique!

i must recognize that is difficult to do (not about the poles lol)... i work hard to modify my images like this and i'm really very very happy with your comments !!

I don't know if you agree (but i hope lol) but... the most difficult thing to do is to modify a picture like it hasn't been modified ... Then the only possibility to know if the pic has been modified, is to view the original.. (i'm sorry for my english :s ) I try to do this, but it's difficult...

so, i will try to do better and better ! thanks a lot !

I'm just curious...how come these images are appearing at such a large size and are over 200k? I thought that wasn't possible in the forum.
