Nope - my comment was right smack in the middle - two or three after valou's comment.
I just found it astonishing that someone takes someone elses work to edit and than post it, which in itself is a pretty sad thing - but takes measures, to have a critical comment to that issue removed..
"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments, that take our breath away!"
I don't get it, how can someone take measures to have a comment removed? especially when the artist has indicated both critical and non critical comments are welcome! I could understand if it contained bad language or something slanderous, but .......
I don't get it
I was going to change my name..... but I'm gonna stick with Newbie for a while longer.
If life was fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators
would be dead.
Interesting - on both counts... 1 that someone reworks someone else's post and put it up in the gallery (even though they gave credit to the original - still a weird thing to do), and that the only (I'm guessing) comment to point it out is gone...
Is my phone tapped...? No, that's just me - no - yes... (I'll get back to you on that one)
Weird...
Oh yeah, i saw that upload as well. And i had to bite my lip not to say anything...i had just prior to that left a comment on someone elses upload that seems to have pissed off that author so i thought it´d be best if i played nicely. :tt2:
Regardless if he had permission or not to edit and manipulate that photo....which i´m sure he did. Didn´t he say he got it from DevianArt or something? They actually encourage that sort of behaviour there don´t they? Well anyway...as i were saying....about to say rather....even if he had permission to edit and manipulate it, i think it´s quite clear that it should´ve been posted to the "Mixed Medium" gallery instead of Photography-gallery am i right? Or as it says on the top of the gallery-page:
*"Please use your judgment when uploading photo manipulations & photos that have been heavily changed. Images containing 2D elements (tubes, fractals..), stock photos or 3D elements (Bryce, Poser, etc) should be uploaded to the
*Mixed Medium or 2D *galleries"
Which makes the disappearing of your comment even more fascinating. :bored:
Oh will ya look at that...writing this reply took 4 minutes out of my working-day....yippie!!!!!
How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when
isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is
supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Hmmm.....i´m fairly sure it´s called "work-day" and not "working-day"....siiiiiiiiiiiiigh. I´m gonna go watch some more "Hells Kitchen" now....boy can that obnoxious chef rant or what?! :scared:

I think that, as the author of an image (original or not), you can always ask for a comment to be removed, no matter what the reason or motivation is... even if you accepted both critical and non-critical comments... because it is your gallery after all. If that person took offense to your comment, that should be enough to get your comment removed. The same goes for any reply to this or any thread in the forum. If you don't like my reply here, you can get it removed (as a matter of speaking ;o))

Well - apparently it was a glitch - however the admins agreed on it being inappropriate to take someone else's image, alter and post it in the photography area.
So I believe it has been removed.
So other than me saying - that I still hate, when someone lacks creativity and resorts to work on other people's images, to post them. And I looked at this person's gallery - and the image in question was by far the best he had in there.
Cheers - Matter closed!

Out of the loop on this one, sorry I missed all the fun. I can think of one instance though when something like this is okay and can be interesting -- it is called collaboration. ;'] It does sound like that applies here though.
Kort Kramer - Kramer Kreations
True - but if that was the case - wouldn't it be appropriate to mention, that the original authors permission was actually given? From the text it appeared, that he just took, gave credit and went at it.
That's was, what caught my attention - since I find that rather odd ( not to mention lame).
But again - case closed - and don't really want policing or anything like that. That's why I commented the guy directly and only when my comment disappeared it became somewhat of an issue. Which though not really actually solved - but reasonably explained as a glitch in the system.
So - water under the bridge ...

An interesting thing happened yesterday in the gallery to me. I ran into an image, where the "artist" took another person's work and manipulated it in photoshop. He credited the original photographer.
The comment I wrote was something like this:
"I hate to be a party- pooper - but does the original author know about this? Do you have his permission?
I have no problem, someone taking my image, to show me something. But I certainly would not allow my image being taken, manipulated and posted somewhere else by someone else."
That was my comment - and guess what? When I checked today if there was any response - this comment was gone. Now - how can THAT be? Correct me if I'm wrong - but I believe, that only Renderosity can censor a comment. And that begs the question, why would they do that?
Are they actively supporting an action, that to say the least is lame?
Anyone?
Cheers
