Can somebody tell me how to get my Bryce renderings to come out at a higher resolution than 72dpi? I would love to print some of my work, but at 72dpi, prints look awful. Poser allows you to set the render resolution in dots-per-inch, but no matter what render resolution I pick in Bryce (1:1.50, 1:2.00, etc.) it always ends up being 72dpi. Waddup?

Select Render to disk under your file menu, then a box appears where you can set output size and resolution.

Other than the render to disc option- remember- 300 pixels per inch isn't just hires, its 300 pixels. ie Hires file for a 4x4 inch print is 1200 dpi. Work at 400x400 and render it with the 1:3 option. phoshop will allow you to change res. Just use a calculator. Mitch

You can double click the render button and select a higher resolution if you want to render to ram. The default format is good for posting here and a reduction for thumbs is in order. There are some folks who choose very high resolution to print to poster size. Good luck.

It depend on what kind of print you want. What settings you will put to your printer. The best is if you print like a 4x6 photo paper, just do the render around 150 dpi and the inch, type 4 in the first box then render. I am doing a faq on render to print what to do at my web site. For my animations, the frames have to be rendered at a final resolution of 400 dpi at 8.25" x 4.25" (3300 pixels x 1700 pixels). All I do is render with the document size at 3300 x 1700 which comes out to 45.83" x 23.61" (at 72 dpi). I then adjust the image in PhotoShop by making the dpi 400 and the size 8.25" x 4.25". Basically, the picture doesn't change because it is still only 3300 x 1700. Does this make sense? PhotoShop makes it easy to do with the Actions feature. You just record your steps in the action feature, then use it again for multiple frames.
