I know Arki has a nice "raggy" texture for the MFD in the freestuff. There are probably others, but I usually make my own when I need one ;), or even overlay onto an existing "fresh" texture ;)

into a fruit salad.
The "Empire Gown" at RDNA has a texture set available that has torn and poor villager type stuff for it, very good!
Don't forget it's very easy to make your own rags for most clothing by using Transmaps, if you don't know how there is a tute on my web site about how to do it, and a good pack for making the transmaps would be Ravynsworld's "rips'n' tears" brushes!

I wonder if is it called the edge-blender node could be used as a lame way of making things a little dirty at the edges and creases... still, I know what you mean, I want contemporary settings and for all the "Luxury Penthouse Apartments" where can I find a "I have a crappy job and share with three roomates" apartment?! Maybe some hairstyles frome Great Clips (a$9 as opposed to $90 haircut). Oh well, the answer always is that it is a fantasy market! :(
Unfortunately I haven't found a good outfit to do something similar with newer figures but I though that this did a pretty good job for M2.

It is pretty much using textures and trans to make it worn. It is easier to mess up a set of clothing than to make a clean one out of the dirty stuff so I think that is why most people make it clean.
You can also do a postwork schmutz real easy but I know you do animation stuff so that isn't an option/

Both my Princess and Pirate sets for Aiko, Steph Petite, David and Hiro over at DAZ have dirty ripped versions.yeah, thx momo. that aztec haircut looks pretty good IMVHO. that hairstyle is used by many indigenous groups in rain-forest areas of the western hemisphere. the dibley upper denture may be possible with an ordinary tooth set, morphed out at the bottom using various group/magnet tricks. to me, the real challenge is the "anorak", as it's a rather detailed item of clothing, and it hasta fit poorly and be in disarray, in order to properly portray the "duke of dork" IMVHO

I know this subject has been broached before
but ........Wouldnt it be nice to see "realistic" Costume and period clothing???
how about some truly Dirty rags and rusty, muddy armor like seen in LOTR movies??
anyone know of any merchant offering this??
Thanks
Most of my texture sets have realistic dirt (and yeah...I do have a few costume sets out there, not just monsters LOL)
My "Shades of Camelot" characters at DAZ are one example
