Subject: Importing rigged models?

Hello all-
I have Poser 5.0 on a mac.

Is it possible to import/open a rigged character created in anything else (like Maya) and use the walk designer inside of Poser?

Or, will the walk designer only work with a rig system done in Poser?

We've had a  character designed and rigged and we're using him in a tv spot and on the website for a client. However, the simple intro I came up with (just walking straight into the camera and turning to an arms crossed pose and slight lean) is proving more difficult for the animators that I thought it would. Considering what they're able to do in the tv spot, interacting with real people.

So, the walk designer accomplishes everything perfectly for the site, but I used the stock model.

Thanks

No.

It would have to be re-rigged in Poser.

DAZ has an FBX exporter, so there's probably a fair chance that they'll eventually have an FBX importer for Studio someday.

ok, thanks. That makes sense, but I've learned to ask!

Maybe you can go the other way around. Load a stock figure in Poser, use the walk designer, and export the animation as a .BVH file. Maya probably has .BVH import. Would that work?

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
