Subject: Problems importing a figure from Poser 6 to Vue Infinite

I am having trouble importing Cubed'd Jenny baby figure from Poser 6 into Vue Infinite. I've been trying to import it as a pz3 but nothing appears..? Any ideas what the problem could be? Or could you point me in the way of previous threads/tutorials? Any advice gratefully received?

try this as it usually works if something doesn't import into Vue.

in poser at the top click "edit" select "general preferences", then select "misc" in there UN-CHECK " use external binary morph targets" then save your figure again like that, then try again to import into Vue.

Hi Vince Yes I had already done that. Still does not import. Goes through the motions then nothing appears

Online Now!

You could also try running the uncompress script in Poser and re-save your pz3 and then try the import, that has worked for me with similar problems.
Make sure you tick the 2 boxes when uncompressing!

Check "Configure Poser Import" in Vue preferences to make sure it points to "poser 6" and also to the Poser 6 installation path.

Tried all these things and still no luck. Very frustrating. Most of the Daz stuff usually imports but everything else is hit and miss. any other suggestions?????

have you tried other figures?

Yes most other figures work (esp DAZ) - although i have trouble with some of the native Poser 6 figures and certain props. I can never be sure what is and isn't going to load. I'm working on a G5 mac - i don't know if that has anything to do with it?

Do you have multiple versions of Poser installed?

Also make sure that you install everything you are trying to import within the Runtime folder of Poser 6, as Vue may be trying to locate geometries etc in Poser Runtime that are actually in the DAZ Runtime.

I know that Poser 7 and Vue Infinite (which I use) do not always see eye to eys on paths and so on, esp if a pz3 file has been opened with different versions of Poser.

Apart from that I don't know what else to suggest.

Note also that DAZ|Studio has a placeholder file called "poser.exe" that might mis-identify to Vue as actually being Poser.

Yes this is very frustrating. Just got another prop that won't import 'EvilInnocence Ribbon' from Renderosity. I've done all of the above. As well as this I haven't got the DAZ programme, I just use a lot of their figures - I find they are the ones most likely to import into VUE infinte from POser without any trouble. Is there anything else i can try? I am using a runtime titled Runtime 7 which is inside Poser 6. This is because I installed poser 7, found it too buggy, so I moved the p7 runtime back into poser 6. It seems to work fine for most things any ideas?
