DAZ|Studio F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 12:43 am)
Hi John, We are working on implementing this for buyers and vendors at Renderosity.
Hopefully we will have DAZ Studio content available in the next few months.
We are very excited about this and hope the community is as well!

That's great news .. now .. can we get vendors to test their products in DAZ as well? Seems to me they have no idea that they are losing money by not including us DAZ users when they create products specifically for POSER only. I recently bought two products that I later found out were POSER only and do NOT work in DAZ|Studio. My fault obviously for nor reading the read me's first but the Adverts were a bit misleading as well .. it didn't say on the Promo for POSER only .. so now I'm stuck with products I cannot use. While I do have POSER stashed away (purchased and literally gave up trying to learn it) I don't feel that I should be forced to learn it to purchase some of the great products and resources out there. I've heard it said by some vendors that they just don't care about the DAZ users .. those that I've heard that from will obviously not be getting my money even if they DO decide to support DAZ|Studio in the future.
As for the second class feeling .. I've heard other DAZ users say the same thing .. personally I believe that there are folks out there creating better things in DAZ than in POSER, however each program has it's own merits. One day I WILL dig out POSER and learn it but DAZ will always be my first love. :D

Hi Wolfsong, Vendor that can support and have tested in DAZ Studio will not this in the Product Requirements field...
"Artists can easily locate MarketPlace items that are supported in DAZ Studio by looking at the "Product Requirements:" field on each items description page. If the item your interested in is supported by the vendor in DAZ Studio it will be listed in this field. These items are located in the "Poser or DAZ Studio" MarketPlace department."
FYI....

Says it all really.
DAZ Studio has a large and rapidly growing user base - around a hundred thousand downloads in the last six months.
Rendo won't support DS products, or allow for the inclusion of DS-specific MATs etc. in related (Poser) products.
Why is this?
I makes me feel like a second-class citizen. The days of 'use the Poser mesh' are long gone. While it is relatively easy in most cases to create DS specific MATS from Poser products, or vice versa (though shaders complicate things I know), Rendo doesn't seem to want to acknowledge the changes occuring in their customer base.
At the very least, that's poor customer focus. It also seems to be cutting down on potential sales.
DAZ Studio is here to stay. Its powerful, its innovative, it can do things Poser can't, and it has a large and growing user base hungry for content.
Please Renderosity, support your community and your profits by adding support to for DAZ Studio. If we're good enough for galleries, freebie area and forum, why aren't we good enough to consider as customers?
Cheers
John
