Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 05 6:50 pm)
Wardrobe Wizard does have an option to convert "As Hair", although I've never actually used it.
In the case of longer hair it's not a big deal to adjust x/y/z scaling to fit the front and top and sides of the head, although getting short hair to grab the bottom of the skull can be a pain.
Vince: Like I said, most hair props/characters for Aiko do have a setting for "realistic", I don't know about that particular hair 'cos I don't have it.
That said, looking at your image, if it doesn't have the setting, that could be made to fit easily enough using the xyz scale dials and the xyz position dials.
I have done this many times with hair fits for V4 for example where there is no V4 version of a hair, I have dialled it to fit.
It's not always perfect but any mismatch can be hidden depending on your pose, for example if you can't see the back of the head, who cares if it's not right there as long as the front and / or sides looks right!!
What you can't see doesn't matter!!

Thanks for the advice, but i have also hair that are supposed to fit several characters, and for Aiko then, there is only 1 setting to fit to "big head" Aiko.
I found some stuff that fit hair for almost all characters, but the same for Aiko and Hiro, only "big head".
Vince: I'm trying to help you here buddy, but I don't have access to Poser here, I'll be home in about 3 hours and I'll supply a list for you of hair that "does" have a "realistic" fit for Aiko.
In the mean time, please try the scale and position dials on this particular hair, it does work, there are many here that use this method!

I have a lot of hair stuff but only 3 as it turns out have the "realistic" setting and are as follows:Amarseda from DAZ
FK Twins from 3DC.
Nyoko hair from DAZ
I'm pretty sure that all if not most of the Aiko hair at 3DC will have this setting!

I'd expect that problem could be fixed with magnets, or with the joint editor since the hair appears to be a conforming figure (move the joint centers for left and right shoulder down). You might also try converting in Wardrobe Wizard if you have it.
Another solution is to simply not conform the hair, but instead just parent it to the head, and pose it manually with morphs or joint bends.
So i decreased general scaling and it seems to fit. But i wonder if it would be so easy with hair like Koz because of the front of the head which has to fit well with the base of the hair.
And is it possible to copy the "realistic fitting" that is in the hair for Aiko, to become a general fitting, ready to use with all other hair that fit her "big head"?
It's surely posible to have a magnet or morph stuff you have just to click on to get the hair resize to her realistic head morph, like in her cloths. But i'm not good enough with morphs and magnets to fix that (honestly, i never use them... ;) )
But perhaps someone good enough with that could make a try?

In addition, you can downlod for free the Hair Conversion Kit from Netherworks Studios that fit hair to all Mill figures. Could be useful! And for The Fixer, the hair i used on Aiko is Akashi hair for Aiko and V3.
Short answer is no, there isn't going to be a single pose or other setting you can apply to every hair to make it fit a given figure. Each hair is going to have very different geometry, some will be conforming and some will not, etc. The morph slider you are used to with clothing to reshape between different figure morphs is something designed into each and every item you own that has that morph, and items that don't have it built in would need to be converted, each and every one, separately. Or you could just figure out how to parent a hair to a head and stop worrying about conforming...
As theFixer keeps saying, it's not hard. I fit any hair to any character. If it's a hair prop just turn the dials until it fits and then lock it so it doesn't move after you pose the character. If it's a conforming figure do this. Keep your Aiko (or whoever) in the default position. Load the conforming hair (don't conform it) and then turn the dials until it fits. Then go to figures "set figure parent" and select head from the list. With the character selected, pick the hair body (this is important), go up to object and lock it so it's doesn't move when posed. These directions are for Poser4 so just do the above for any version of Poser you're using. P.S - after posing you'll have to unlock to be able to move the morphes around and then remember to lock it again.
My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

Hi!
How can i fit hair to Aiko and Hiro with their realistic morphs on? When hair props have "fit Aiko/Hiro", it's only for their cartoon big head.
And another question:
i know Wardrobe Wizard fit cloths from a character to another one, but does it work with hair too?
hanks, cause it's a big headache to always see my Aiko and Hiro completey bald, and they could get cold too :)
