CRPro in the marketplace will do that and more. It's an excellent utility and a must have.

I use PSPad (freeware) and I love it. I handles multiple replacements in as many files as you want, through subfolders, etc. AMONG other things!
But why don't you replace the whole pathname with this kind of pathname ":Runtime:textures:folder:filename" and :Runtime:Geometries:folder:filename ?? Then you can change your drive letters as often as you want and never have any problem.
OR
You can easily assign new drive letters to your drives and have the same letters you had on your other computer. That's what I did 2 weeks ago when my computer went to the hospital and I bought a used one as a spare. Not because of my Poser files because they are all using the pathnames I suggested, but for all my other programs.

If you are on a Mac, textwrangler will do batch find and replace so you don't feel left out. I used it just 2 days ago to convert a P4 hr2 file that had c: references in it and batch remove several hundred to :.

Is this by chance the solution for painlessly building and organizing runtimes?

I changed computers. All of the drive letters are now incorrect in cr2's and actual pz3 files. I used to use Multireplace but it does not seem to be working. the drive letters are D: and it tells me they are wildcards. I have no clue what that means.
If you know of a utility or software that would work for this I would appreciate it.
