Subject: Problems with Victoria 2.0 Purchase...

milamber42 ( ) posted Fri, 11 May 2001 at 7:06 PM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 8:44 PM

I just purchased Victoria 2.0 and had MAJOR problems. The order confirmation page had an error where the download links were supposed to be rendered, and the Online Order Download Information contained everything except the download URL. Anyone else had this problem or is it just my bad luck?

Check the post a few down from here. Looks like DAZ is being very responsive to any problems. You should call or e-mail them and they should be able to help you out.

I tried to call, but it is past office hours. I forwarded the email to sales and carboned Dan Farr just in case. Thanks to the reference to the post. I'll also send the email to tech.

I notice that several places, either at Renderosity and elsewhere, ask that people upgrade to the latest versions of IE and Netscape, as a lot of these problems seem to be caused by older browsers...

I had the same problem with the page not having any download links when the final page came up. I just went and got my email receipt they send immediately and clicked on one of them and the page loaded in my browser, this time with the links visible, so I got everything I bought ok.

I had the same problem. I placed my order and got a confirmation around 3pm, Eastern Standard Time. Got no download links in the message, though. So I emailed the sales department about the problem, but never got a response.... that was 5 hours ago.

Yeah, using IE5.5 I was also having problems, but this is what I did... Right click on the link and select to open link in another window. I get an error window, which I close, and then the download box pops up. just FYI (got my copy)

my cc was denied! looks like my money's no good in that town. And on the wonderwedge I was billed twice. Maybe they can't handle the rush. Look at the number of members... if 30 percent hit the same day, well, I can see how there could be problems. What makes me smile is so many of us don't really have the $$ for this, and proudly say so, and just about everyone will somehow find a way. They'll take care of all problems, believe me.

Eric from DAZ sent me the correct links and I was able successfully download my vicky2, etc., this morning. Thank you, Eric!!!!!!!!! -- sue :-)

I've bought quite a bit from DAZ/Zygote and have had a few delivery problems in the past. Usually it was my fault though not always. Regardless, they always came through within a very reasonable time period. Once I found an item so appealing that I bought it twice, several months apart. Even then it took another month or so before I noticed. DAZ gave me a full credit for the 2nd purchase. How many companies offer guarantees against user stupidity? .

black-canary ( ) posted Sat, 12 May 2001 at 6:16 PM

they've helped me with stupidity too...I had an error in my vicky 2 order as well--a miva runtime error--no links, no links in the email. It looks like I have to wait until they're back in the office...sigh. But I've dealt with them a lot and I'm entirely certain they'll get it straightened out. Back to playing with my old toys while I wait for the new one.

The longest I've had to wait for a response from Daz was a weekend. I bought something on a Friday, there was some sort of a problem and I didn't get any links that worked. 24 hours to download... Monday they sent me an email, checked out the problem, gave me a new link to download and all was done. At other times they've responded within the day and been extremely helpful. Vicky2 went like all my other recent purchases from them, smooth and sweet, even the download speed was good which stunned the heck out of me as I expected the server to be hammered senseless. :)
