You can select WHICH items will get painted, you know that? :)
see the two radio buttons, bottom of the palette?
"A bti of everything"...."paint only selected items"
tick the paint only selected items, for precise choice.
standard commands to add/subtract items to be painted by the paint brush.
CTRL and Click, or SHIFT and click, to select multiple things, so you can have a lot of different plants/objects in eco painter Population window, and select what you need, when you need it.
so, you can then paint varied ecosystems as need
:)

Here's the image i'll be referring to...

Now, in my V6X, I painted the background forest using the 'paint' option, to most easily control placement of the trees... It worked well (I love that feature!)
However, I also wanted to use the feature to paint a completely different ecosystem, based on bushes and low plants in the foreground (around the Hankster rock formations supporting my Poser figures...)
I have noticed that when I tried to change the components of my 'EcoPaint' palette, the existing previously-placed instances changed to reflect the new palette.
I wondered if applying to a new layer would 'preserve' the existing instances, but it did not work either... I suppose i could have used a 'classic' ecosystem texture on a new terrain, but I opted instead for manual placement of individual plants...
So, is there ANY way to paint different ecosystems in V6?
This is one of my chief frustrations in V6... I'd appreciate any help!
Cheers!
