How do you get NO genitals with Apollo Maximus w/o getting a hole? I want the same effect that you get with M3.

I want to create a second skin Superhero outfit. And well, it just won't do having the guy's bits and pieces flapping in the breeze as he destorys the evil robot.

There is nothing to be done with that one.  Anton didn't create a non gens hip switch for Apollo.  Perhaps he may do that in the future, who knows.  For the time being you will have to use undies, the Skinsuit when Part 4 is released or leave the genitals on.

He doesn't do geometry swapping, so either you'll have to leave his bits flapping about OR put some undies on him.

*From the Readme that comes with Apollo

Genitals:

Penis is always there. There is a Pose next to the MAT to turn Penis invisible. No alternate hip was added for design reasons.

-          Penis Scale Dial is in ADS_ScaleDials.

-          The missing geometry is fine and will reduce chances of geometry poking through clothes.

Maybe when I have a little time this weekend I'll make a cup for him. I absolutely love the muscle morphs on Max over M3. He bulks up really well by comparison and you much more control.

That would be very cool. Are you planning on adding in the needed hip morphs so he's not stuck at one body type??  I think your able to do this.  Contact Anton directly he will help you out!! 😄

I personally have no palns on an laternate hip. Poser's apprach to this is so iffy that it isn't worth the headache.

However, You don't need an alternate hip, just a piece for Genital1. That I might do at some point. No dates no promises. But I'll look into it.

The SkinSuit will be in part4, I decided last minute t look into expanding the contents in Part4 so it is last.

Thanks, carodan. It's hard to find informatiom on pmd.

Unfortunately, users of DAZ Studio will not be able to use the morph because D|S does not see pmd files.  Surely there is a better way to distribute Apollo morphs?

What you want to do is convert the morph target into a set of INJ/REM poses to be compliant with DAZ|Studio.  I had a lot of trouble figuring that out myself, but ended up just spending $15 or so here on Binary Morph Editor, which will painlessly convert a Poser PMD file containing one or more specific morphs into a pair of INJ/REM pose files.  I also own DAZ INJ Pose Builder but never did figure out how to actually get it to write a proper INJ pose.  I am sure there are other ways to get this done, but for me the $15 was a decent trade for the time saved, and I will very likely use it again in the future (V4 toe morphs).

It may be that I was somewhat stupid, but I read a dozen tutorials on how to create INJ/REM poses and had many failures until I gave Binary Morph Editor a try.

Be aware that when you do get around to creating the INJ/REM pose, depending on how you created your pose you may need to manually rename the morph channels used on that bodypart - Poser does not mind if you name the morph channel "FrIpPlYfRuFrU" and the morph will work, and might even be transportable between figures by a morph target OBJ export, but my first tries at INJ pose files with non-standard names would not work.  There are ranges of morph control channel names set aside internally that you can use for this purpose; examine any known good INJ/REM pose for a good example.

Note that if you rename a control channel in the INJ post, you must rename it exactly the same way in the coresponding REM pose as well.

A very simple solution for studio users is just to use free Morph Manager to port their morphs in a dummy cr2 that is nothing more than a holding tank for morphs.

Anyone with a cr2 and freeMorph manager can just hand copy each morph target over for use in STudio.

Apollo's files are still in P4 format so Morph Manager works awesome. i use it all the time.

pjz99, hi. I can do injections. I write mine old school, using BBedit. ;) Apollo is different from a DAZ figure. DAZ figures use Injection. eF figures use pmd. Apollo 2007 does not have open channels to inject into, so an injection morph won't work. Using the eF method of pmd does not work for Daz Studio users. However, I think there might be a utility in the free stuff section that can convert pmd for P4, not sure if that will work for D|S and Mac users.... So where does that leave us? Having an obj that people can load as morph target will get you into some serious trouble with the model makers. You could do RTE, which is what the Cole update for Apollo 2007 does. But this may not be a good way to do morphs for Apollo. So Morph Manger wins. I was kinda surprised how many people didn't know how to transfer Cole morphs to Apollo 2007 vis Morph Manger. People have gotten used to Injections, or newer users aren't aware of the V2 and M2 method of transferring morphs? Anton, I have to strip all the cr2 info out first, then add my morph to get a new cr2 in Morph Manager? That should work for Mac, Pc, Poser 4-5-6-7, and D|S, right? bB

Although I have no reason to - pardon - lop off the guy's gens (oww oww), I imagine if I had to do an educational type naked figure render for younger schoolkids, then yeah, a smooth neutered look might be less attention-grabbing that a hole.  Or use the underpants, but they'll still see the bulge.

So upshot of my take is - could be useful to have the gap "capped", for whenever.

You can just use the seed cr2 in the resource folder as a "Holding tank" for most of the morphs, minus fingers and toes.  It is already blank.

But yeah. You just need the parts. Should be perfectly universal. Sometimes simplicity is best.

I do think in years past people knew some things, now forgotten. Installers and such are handy, but prevents people from learning some things they should know.

Btw: This is a bot Off topic but I wanted to add this here too..

I wanted an easy way for people to find Apollo content. This is still a WIP. It will expand over time. Many of these we already know, but it will expand. I encourage peole to email me from the email link at the bottom of the column.

APOLLLO'S CONTENT VIEWER
Collecting all Apollo content onto one page.

1)Your browser needs to support frames.
2)Navigate using links to the left

Anyone who has links or listing requests, just email me or post them. I'd prefer actual pages over forum posts that require logins and such.

If anyone in the Daz forums has a webpage freebie to link to that would be awesome and I am happy to link them. Links should to be to either a specific page or an Apollo section. I can't link to mass content pages where the apollo item might be lost within freebies for another figure

Anyway, if anyone has a page, link, product, store, or freebie, or something I missed, etc, just let me know. I often miss things, but they may be on one of the pages contained within. If I can find away to properly display it, I will..

Geometry can be swapped (in some cases, at least) using a pose, rather than the usual dial.  I've been using this approach for a custom-built genswap hip for Vicky 1.  The above shows how the pose is set up.  It can insert or remove morphs and/or change textures at the same time.  The method doesn't tend to run into problems with the global genitals switch settings for the scene and it doesn't clutter up the CR2.  Fewer design problems, perhaps.

It does have some problems.  Some body parts simply don't seem to work, and a pose should only do one body part at a time.

This is how the gen hip is turned off via a pose.

Why would you want to show (educational?????) nude pictures of any male poser figure (with or without a penis) to small children?   In some of the US States that could find you facing criminal charges.

Hi, bnetta. ^^
Good to know D|S can load an obj morph target. Poser can do this too. I use Obj morph all the time. But when it comes to sharing a morph, you have to strip out all the obj's information and share only the morph or you get into trouble for copyright violation. (The obj belongs to it's creator, the morph of the obj belongs to the morph's creator). Sharing obj morphs can be done using using RTE encoder and OBJ traction mover(?).

Geometry switching is something I want to try from something cool like swapping feet.
save code

Geometry switching on the hip is problematic if you use any morphs on the figure. Poser figures and M2 used this. I would get errors on M2 all the time. It was truly embarrassing how M2 would have his private parts pops out at the worst times.

Sure. ^^ This is my first Poser freebie, believe it or not. ^^;;; I tried to think of everything that could go wrong. but I'm sure I missed a few. The AltHip morph should work well for dynamic cloth simulations. But the morph does not stay as nice looking when using extreme ADS and Body dials. If it was just one body part it would stay nice, but with multiple segments, it gets messy. That's why I used a combination of morphs with lock and hide. If that doesn't work, then I included a really ugly magnet (aka "The Black Hole") and it will suck everything into it. oO Anyhoo, that should solve the gapping hole problem. bB
