Subject: P7 & Kate 2

Hi all,

I just got P7 and am trying to get familiar with the new G2s and other characters.

Seems there is a face room installer for the four main G2s and it works fine. However I cannot get Face Room to recognize Kate 2 (she's not listed in the XML file)

Is there anyway to get here into the face room? Otherwise, it's a long haul to create different ages and looks using just the morph brush.

Am I missing something? There seem to be no shaping morphs built into her -- only expressions.

I'm kinda lost here . . . .

TIA

i haven't got P7 but that was the same in P6 with Kate and Ben, neither of them had face room support, not sure if anyone ever made any morphs for them either, and i would doubt that there would be any clothes either, so my guess is that will be the same for the second versions of them aswell.

The only kids that ever had faceroom support were Will & Penny from Poser 5. Your only option with any of the other kids will be to create your own morphs with the Morph Brush, Magnets or pay someone else to make some for you. Unless some kind soul decides to make some freebies out of the kindness of their hearts. You don't see as much of that in the Poser community these days though so don't hold your breath. It's all about the Poser Dollar now.

Thanks for the feedback -- guess I'll stick with DAZ figures for children and youngsters.

I was kinda hoping to consolidate under G2 or V4 at some point -- it's getting a little hazy for me with so many choices resulting from CP and DAZ duking it out for market share.

With enough effort, you can get pretty much the same results (IMHO) for a given image from G2 or DAZ figures. Of couse, a lot depends on the circumstances and I am generalizing to make a point.

Nonetheless . . .

For some of us, the investment in meshes, morphs and textures that it takes to support two "families" of characters is getting serious. Perhaps the next gen of aftermarket converters will help pull things together.

But it would be nice to have one main system to work with for character morphs, clothes conversions/exchanges, texture sharing, etc.

Dreaming, ya think?

For me it's becoming a heck of a left-brain, right-brain tug-of-war  these days between technical issues and artistic expression.

Thanks again,

R.

Try the new Morph Tool.

I have played with the morph tool -- pretty neat, actually. A lot like sculpture, but I find it a bit tedious and kind of slow going..

I guess I got spoiled by being able to create character faces just by spinning a few dials.

Sigh . . .
