The scene preview is not updated in real time when you work on a model : it changes only when you release the mouse button . I remember that one year ago, i've asked Metacretins about the fact that once the preview window is closed, you can't make it reappear . They answered me that it was a bug and there was nothing to do about it except saving the file and reopen it . Hopefully, this will be fixed with the new patch, wich is planned for ... well ... a long time ago ! ;) litst
Aha! I usually modify vertices numerically rather than with the mouse. If I use the mouse to push things around, the preview updates just fine. If I modify vertices numerically, they move in the modeling window, but nothing is ever updated in the preview window. Interesting. I wonder if there is a way to force an update?
CCP - the only way that I have found to make the preview window re appear is to go into the assemble room and double click on the object that you want to model. This brings up the preview pane and the model pane too...but who knows if this will work for everyone!!! I'm about ready for a BIG patch! Jared

Does the preview window in the vertex modeler work at all for anyone? I would like to modify some meshes with respect to other objects in the scene, and it looks like this would be the way to do it without hopping between the modeler and the assembly room. Unfortunately, changes to the mesh (which appear in the directors camera in the modeler) are not reflected in the preview pane. It simply shows the model as it was when I opened the modeler. Is this feature actually implemented properly, or should I just close the window and hop back to the assemble room to check the results of my changes? BTW, I have the patch installed. Thanks for any insights!
