Cheers Fox-M, you always seem know what I didn't think I needed until you reminded me I didn't have it!?!

Hey Fox-Mulder How do you find all those stuffs. I always follow your sites that you are referencing to. You are genious!

Fox is sort of the 3d Reference Librarian ;) Without him, a lot of us would be missing out on a lot of worthwhile sites. Thank you, Fox :)

Is it true that he was sinful buddhist monk with bad karma that got reincarnated as a search-engine?

Please look at my free saddle. Then compare it to the western saddle for sale on that page. I was suspicious because I never liked the way I made the parts that folded over eachother. And this one looks identical to mine. The seat, and stirrups look too close to mine to be a coincedence in my opinion. I'm not saying it's mine. But If I was in Vegas. I'd bet the bank on it ;-) Also---is that english saddle the one by Jackie and bloodsong? ScottA

I don't know, it looks like a case of warez paranoia to me, but then I'm neither an equestrian nor a modellor. What convinces me that it's not the same saddle is that I can't understand why anyone would take your great saddle (thanks I dl'ed it) and morph it into this mediocrity. If you really think it's yours why not post a pic from a similar view. Oh I hope I haven't upset anyone by posting these pics that don't belong to me, but before we bomb the guy with hatemail we should at least examine the evidence closely.

bloodsong ( ) posted Mon, 14 May 2001 at 6:21 PM

heyas; they appear to be different, to me. the yellow ribbon tassel things, and the rear strap could have been added on.... however, the main girth strap appears to be a different shape. the stirrups do as well, although it is hard to tell from the angle of the second image. the stirrup straps are different. the base seat part is built differently. the horn shapes are similar; the cantle is taller in the second than the first. the bridle/rein and english saddle also look different than the ones that jackie creaated (and i modified). in my professional opinion, they are newly built models. :)

ScottA ( ) posted Mon, 14 May 2001 at 6:21 PM

Actually, I'm kind of an oddball ;-) I don't really care if someone takes my freestuff and sells it. I don't have any restrictions on the free stuff I post. If you can sell my junk. You deserve the money ;-) I was just wondering if anyone else saw the resemblance? The english saddle looks very much like the one Jackie and Bloodsong worked on and posted for free as well. They might not be so happy about people selling that one. Maybe I'm just seeing things. ScottA

heyas; i already stated they look significantly different to me. i sure don't remember those two... ridge things on the spine of the english saddle on jackie's model (whatever they are :) ). i'm not surprised the tack looks the same as other tack. after all, they're all built from the same real-world models and designs. we are a helpful community, here, but we're a bit gun-shy of having stuff ripped off; it has happened before. sadly, this question of 'does it look like this person stole my mesh' is a legitimate question. i think it is clear you haven't.

ScottA ( ) posted Tue, 15 May 2001 at 5:50 PM

Sorry. :-( I Just asked for people to look at the items because they looked similar to me. We have a problem with people altering other peoples work then selling them. And I was just asking for people to compare these to see if there was a problem. I didn't mean any harm. I Just wanted to help people protect their work. My apologies for any trouble I may have caused. But at some point it might be YOUR work I'm asking people to help protect by looking at a similar model made by someone else. ScottA

Hi everybody, I'm the Swedish woman who recieved the English saddle from Sams3D. I sent picture to them and the saddle is made as a copy of it. I searched the net a long time for a "real" looking English saddle before I runned in to Sams3D and they were kind enough to create one for me. Where is your English saddle ScottA? BTW, with time there will be a beautiful bridle too. :o) Regards, Eva

Sam 3D comes out guns blazing... Of course your wrong Sam but I like the spirit. You were not exactly accused, but you were judged and found innocent (but mediocre) even before your gritty self defense. That's not bad for a forum like this were warez paranoia draws crowds bigger than Man Utd and people have been lynched before their side is heard. You have your apology, and an all round victory for commons sense. Now, if you fancy doing a samurai saddle (even a mediocre one) I can promise you at least one customer.

Hi Angola, You are right, I did get my dander up and I appologize for the unprofessional action. Can't blame anything or anybody but myself for that, and I also do appologize to the forum, I certainly will try to stay calm next time, if there is a next time. I have not heard of a samurai saddle, we will research it and give it a try.

angola ( ) posted Thu, 17 May 2001 at 5:12 PM

All these apologies are making me queasy. But I'll find you a picture of a samurai saddle and you can say if you think it's feasible given the number of Japanophiles out there... And never let it be said that I miss an opportunity to get models.

I went too look for a picture, we think we know what you are talking about, but if you could find us a picture that would help, seeing it is quiet unique, and like I said, will give it a shot.
