Subject: FerryMan Fractal 1.6.2 Released ---- Still Totally Free

spanzhang ( ) posted Mon, 28 May 2007 at 3:11 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 8:49 AM

FMF 1.6.2 released still as freeware with some new features. The first one, you can create effects at group or image level by adding mappers to group or image. There's a video tutorial with voice explanation at http://www.cgpad.com/cgpad_en/fk_down.asp?id=12 for free download. The second, you can specify quality at group/image level. The layer's over sampling ration will be all coefs (including its parents' and gradfathers') multiplied together.

FMF is always free for download. Go this link to get a copy of it: http://www.cgapd.com. There's no registration process before your playing with it. If you want to take a look at sample images produced by FMF, please take a look at my Gallery at Renderosity: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=411572

Thanks for your interesting.

Oh!  It has to be zipped up!  Hotmail doesn't accept .exe files, and I don't have .rar stuff.

I just emailed you, Spanzhang. I'd love a copy. :) Thanks for making it available to artists.

Your site won't load at all for me, so I couldn't download it.

Thank you,
Mindy

Hi Mindy, I tried to send you a copy via my hotmail email but failed. Maybe hotmail cannot send mails to gmail. But my gmail box cannot send files with exe enclosed. So, I think you can try the following link to get a copy of FMF.

Spanzhang...I only just installed it but I can tell right away I am going to LOVE it. :)  And I am a fusspot when it comes to fractal programs, I have tried them all but only consistently use two. This may be the third. :) Wonderful! Thank you again.

**Some Changes to FMF

1).** Ported the source code to VC8 environment. The setup file is now enclosed with MFC dll files. Just as the former version, any 32-bit Windows platform is good enough for running FMF.
2). Changed some code to adapt monitor's color depth settings. No matter what your monitor's color depth is, FMF creates the true color bitmap.
3). Changed the JPEG compression algorithm, FMF need less memory to compress large images into JPEG format.
4). Changed the inner data structure to enhance image display and creation. You can now create 20000 * 20000 and above images with Minimun Memory mode.

please visit http://www.ferrymanfractal.com to get the newest version.

I've tried it: it gives wonderful results!

lior ( ) posted Tue, 07 August 2007 at 11:52 AM

I saw at

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/tutorial/index.php?tutorial_id=1642&page=2

<coloring guid="{0F422DDD-8DAD-4686-86F0-D8299102460F}"  prop="|0,0,0,1|1|3|0|32765||2|2|1000|1|" />

copy the above text and paste it to the FMF's work space to get a view at it.

**If some one can explain me :" copy the above text and paste it to the FMF's work space to get a view at it. " that's to say of whitch work space is it about???

**

Sorry for my limited English, Lior. I just want to say, copy the text and paste to the FMF's workspace. You can find a Paste item at the menu of Edit. That's the key point.
