Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 24 8:11 pm)
I could be wrong here, but I don't think the faceroom supports DAZ figures. I think it's only eF figures and Apollo Max (if you downloaded the module).

Hi Damsel,Have you considered ... ? ............... Would this work for you? _____ Hmmm???
It's available here at R'osity. ... (you can use the link above the image)
Just a thought. Or maybe just Face Shop Basic ?

Did I miss something here?
Where did you get the plus Apollo...for a limited time apparently from?????????????
As I see it, ApolloMax works in the FaceRoom, but not really well with the Photo Options, due to the Material mapping of ApolloMAx.

FSP is a far cry from being a really nice program.
Unless you feel like doing a lot of work with PhotoShop, PaintShoppro, Gimp etc, the txtures are horrible. It pretty much does just the "Face".
What You See in FSP isn't what you are going to get in Poser either.
The Head Morph target is rough, probably due to using points to create it from a photo.
About the only thing I use if for is to make a MT, run it through Hex to smooth it out and then into poser.
FSP has all of the potential to be a really nice program someday, IMHO it isn't close to there yet.
If I was going to buy it to try it, I would buy it from DAZ , where you can get a 30 Day Money Back
Guarantee.

For ApolloMax, you will need to run him through UVMapper, before you import into FSP.

I have done far far better getting a likeness with FaceShop Pro than with Face Room. It is not a no brainer though, the texture must be edited just as a Face Room created texture but the FS texture is far better in my opinion. The mesh must also be used intelegently with dial work in Poser for fine tuning the shape of the head and emphasising features... so it is not a "one-click" cloner but the results are far far supperior to Face Room in my experience.
I am still trying to learn how to use it best but to put it in context, I have bought finished characters from prominent vendors here and had to fix the textures and dial work... this software does require effort to be put in but it provides very interesting results... I find a likeness dialed in at 50% serves as a great guide to work with dials... it creates the base and indicates the features while dial spinning can refine details like nose tip shape etc. that might not be in the photograph but is known to us with our human facial recognition wet wear. I don't have anyone I want to make a likeness of but I have used it to make say P4 Nude Man's head look like Micheal 3's and mostly to add life to my figures... I find mixing in about 40% of 50% FaceShop can make mesh look more real even if a likness is not a consideration.
I want to see where this program is going so I was very happy to be an "early adopter", the author seems to be commited to refining the program and something I have seen over and over with Poser stuff is how users expand the capability of an application or feature through independent work that they share with others... really pushing the capabilities of something with tricks and techniques. I am confident this will happen with FaceShop.
Mariner. I should have been clearer about the Apollo thing.
The Face Room module for Apollo may only be available for a limited period (according to Anton). Once you have it, you have it forever. But if you wait, you may miss the boat.
Hope this clears things up.
If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominos will fall like a house of cards...checkmate!

Many Thanks for the Clarification ClawShrimp.
Do you know if this is posted anywhere???
How about in the CP Forums?
I have it, but this is the first i had heard about it possibly being unavailable for DL'd.
Cheers

Let's all Hope So.
I didn't see very many changes in FSP SR-1 and haven't heard any new runors of any further updates lately.
I would think that FSP should have been able to texture what it sees?
Apparently not.
I have taken several Picture, Dead On Face Shot. FSP barely begings to texture the ears at all.
Doesn't matter if I Line them out or not.

Quote - I'll bet you're right. Darn! Thanks for the reply.
You can use PhilC's, FacePutty, from his PoserToolBox.
You can also use the Poser 7 Morph Tool.
You do not need to have FaceRoom support for those.

I haven't done much in the face room before and I have a question. :-) If I am doing a character for a client and go into the faceroom and morph Vicky 4's face into a whole new shape, can I save that shape, then use injection Pose Builder to save that as an injection pose file? I know I can spawn a morph target which will create a dial, but was wondering if you can save that character, then make an injection pose for it so that the client could inject her into Vicky 4 that way? Thanks for any help.
