Subject: support models

A heads up for anyone who doesn't already know, if you need models for fill, background, etc. try Archibase.net. they have a wide variety of models mostly in 3ds format. Many of them are from actual furniture makers so it is possible to do renders with a specific brand in many cases. For the U.S. users, much of the nomenclature is European as are many of the collections
"sanitary ware" for example covers all bathroom items. As there are multiple sets quite often really good accessory items are found within a set and not under  the search filter. Say you are looking for dinnerware, it would definitely pay to look under individual kitchens as well as searching kitchen wares. The site has much more than just furniture and textures.

The site link is:   http://www.archibase.net

archibase.net

Quote - You can both download the 3D object and add your own to our database. Please do not forget that you can add only object in the format *.gsm, included to zip or rar archive. You must not add objects with such extension as *.3ds, *.dxf, *.dwg, *.max etc.

OK, so what the heck is a .gsm file and how do we use it?

"gsm" format is the Archicad format. However, that applies only to uploads. The files are in 3ds format for download purposes and will need to be converted to obj format for use in any program that does not support 3ds. Ignore/delete the accompanying gsm file. My apologies for not making that absolutely clear in the original post. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
