Subject: P7 freezes after turning a few times the parameterdials

tigerkidden3d ( ) posted Sun, 01 July 2007 at 10:41 AM · edited Thu, 25 July 2024 at 6:37 PM

Hi,

I'm using Poser7 under Windows XP.

When I edit figures, props or bodyparts with the parameter-dials like "xrotate" "ytran" ..... more then lets say 5-10 times, Poser7 freezes.

The only thing working is "SAVE". When I close Poser7 at that moment and reopen the file again, everything is fine until the next "freeze" when "turning the dials".

With the same file, on the same PC but with Poser6 it NEVER happens.

Does anyone know what causes this problem?
Thanks.

Guessing: Could be the Undo mechanism.  Try going into Prefs (Ctrl-K)
and setting the Undo number down from its default 100 to something
more reasonable like 10.

You're lucky ! My Poser 7 simply disappears without reason, if not that it waits the moment when I made a long work and saved nothing...

Hi ockham,

I did as you said  put it from a 100 to 10 and even to 1. Now it seems a lot better but not satiesfying at all.

But thanks for your idea and help anway :-)))))

Is your Poser installed on an external hard disk, or a networked
disk, or something like that?  Poser doesn't enjoy such
arrangements ... it's usually better to keep it entirely "inside the box."

Yes, Poser 7 is installed on "C" and the runtime-folders are on an external harddrive "W"  for savety reasons.

But with Poser 6 its the same: Poser 6 installed on "C" and the same runtime-folders are on "W" the external harddrive.
