Subject: Shadows in Poser

in Poser 4  or   Poser 5, is there any way to render a shadow on an "invisible" ground?

(for example) I want to render a horse running, using an AVI background I rendered in Bryce( rather than export the horse into Bryce)    Unfortunatly, when I do this it looks bad because there is no shadow under the horse...I don't want the Poser ground plane to show, just the shadow.

Thanx in advance

Not in Poser 4 but there's a real simple shader technique to work in Poser 5.  Poser 6 has it built in, so probably Poser 7 does, too.

Gimme 5 minutes and I'll dig out the shader you need to do it.

You can put a primitive cube under everything, and that can work ok (just did it with my last pic). You can texture it with whatever materials are in Poser.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

A litle later than expected but here is the shader, as promised.  This will work with any surface.

You're very welcome!

IMyself and another Poser user - who's name escapes me momentarily - developed an extension of this which allows you to throw reflections onto an invisible surface.

I'll post that one asap.
