to have a light prop light up everything in a scene. I was using taruru's school hallway prop, but no matter what I use, it still shows only darkness inside the hallway.

put a point lite inside the prop. uncheck "cast shadows" for the prop. set prop diffuse and alternate diffuse channels to lite colour.

if you are trying to use infinate lights for an enclosed space you won't get good results, you have to use point or spot lights with their origin within the space as Miss Nancy said.

Almost right. You can use infinite lights if you tell the prop that has the walls to not cast shadows.

Still, that won't get you realism, it will just get you a lot of light. For realism you do want lights in the room.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
